It’s Vegas Fir season! And just LOOK at the boxes! Our Feline Supervisors have always loved hopping into the decoration boxes as we’re setting up, I’m sure the BCN crew is gonna have a blast with the boxes.
I’ve started getting Bradford Exchange’s Feline Nativity Scene. So far, I’ve got Mama and Kitten, and am waiting on Adoring Dad. Then, the three kings, King Yarn, King Catnip Toy, and King Kitty Treats.
I know, but I’ve got a very religious sister and I can’t wait to see her reaction to this “blasphemy.”

We got our boxes out last weekend . my 2 new girl kittens have unpacked several "unbreakable " ornaments for us and are busy batting them across our empty formal living room. But they are having the most fun with a roll of wrapping paper, tearing it occasionally but also re-wrapping and rolling it back up. We have decided to let the babies Decorate the whole room as we forgo a tree this year. Wait until they see 9 stockings hanging off the piano!
Second Christmas in a row with a young cat/kitten experiencing decorating for the first time. He and his brother (cat’s 2nd Christmas) are VERY interested in the tree and the ornaments aren’t even on it yet. So far he’s not messed with the stockings on the mantle, but I’m sure it just a matter of time.
If all y’all are offered a nibble of that festive, decorative cat food, Elvis will turn up his nose and walk away in dignified disgust, Lupin will take a bite and then shake his head scattering globs of it all over, and Goldie will attempt to bury it, leaving you to enjoy the rest of it in peace/

I went back to the crime scene. By this point, the glass-thingys had been picked up by the human. The way the human was carrying on, I half expected to find a body under the tree. Humans are an annoying species, but they got kibble, and that pays the bills. Lots of paw prints on the floor; yeah, this was a party, alright.
No sooner than I had started to read the paw-prints than a heavy object crashed into my skull, forcing my head into the floor. Oh crap, Stars shouldn’t be out in the daytime, but I’m seeing them. Someone doesn’t want this crime investigated, do they?
I look up to see a dame in black fur hop of my head and land a couple of feet away.
Belle, I might have known. She has those humans fooled. They see all sweetness and purrs when in reality, this dame is slash and a hiss. I admire that.
“Whatcha doing Hammy?” she knows I hate to be called Hammy.
“Lookin into this broken glass thing for a client. Got any information for me?”
“Little old me wouldn’t know about such bad things,” she purred as she brushed against me. Damn, this dame is good.
“But if you want, I might know someone. So follow me if you dare,” she said with a giggle as she scampered into the next room.It’s a setup for sure. Dames and kibble, two of my weaknesses. I follow her into the next room. Yeah, mama did raise a fool.
It is a practical and statistical impossibility that any American over the age of 10 will see a box marked “Fragile” during the month of December and not at least think, “Must be Italian!” (as One Serious Cat has so graciously demonstrated for us)
Georgia added a few more new things to the Zazzle store that I saw when I was looking at it. There is a shirt with baby Iggy on it and a shirt and a mug with the picture of Puck and Tillie from the calendar.
It doesn’t matter how carefully anyone placed those lights in that box; they are now an utterly tangled ball of wires with half the bulbs burned out. This is Christmas Law.
The Woman is brave to have an entire box marked “fragile” in a house with three small humans and four cats. All of our ornaments are indestructible – and wired tightly to the tree.
OT: COVID vaccinationsThis is a days’ later response to a ‘joke’ about anti-vaxxers having no brains. I’ll get to that shortly.I am here because I love cats, and Georgia’s cats and this comic strip. Been a reader from the start and so appreciate the art and stories, and the blog of ‘the orb.’ I don’t always read everything that y’all put up, but I peruse the length of all comments the next day. I read my comics at midnight or so (west coast) and don’t log in to comment often, because it is so late for me.In the Sunday Funnies, I saw a snarky ‘joke’ about anti-vaxxers. I am anti-vaccination only in regards to COVID. I have my reasons. I skip your excited blog lines about you getting your shots, but I don’t condemn you; I’m just not interested. I won’t ‘put you down’ for your beliefs, please don’t rail on me for mine. One (there are others) of the reasons we chose to live without this vaccination is that we have such pressure around us; they use all kinds of guilt and sanctions, including getting fired from governments jobs – into the hundreds – and we don’t like to being told what to do and how to live our lives. I will not get political about this; “I’m a Rebel, not an Anarchist!” I’m done now, thank you. (She steps down from her soapbox…)

The raccoon came back. He found a new way into the garage. Hallmark ornaments scattered everywhere. He pooped All over our tree last year so we bought a new one. When he killed the tree last year he also decimated Snow White and the seven dwarfs that I had in porcelain. He chewed them all up. So far the damages have an equal filing insurance claim. I don’t know why this particular raccoon is waged a war against Christmas! Lol
I wished I had my camera ready when my cat stared at me for 1 hour before feeding time, she had these soulful looks on her face, like I was forgetting to feed her. Since the change of the clocks falling back, she hates me and I’m trying to accommodate to the difference, but it just confuses me and my cat……LOL.
Indy & Dodger are going home today to a new location with their h00minz & the rest of the animals. The new place has a fully enclosed cat area to keep them safe. Watch the action here:
