Eventually there wouldn’t be any ketchup.

For sure. Verne can eat insects and their larvae, along with some foliage for a rounded diet. RJ will scrape by on just about anything smaller than himself that he can catch, kill if necessary without taking undue risk, and eat. Raw, rancid sometimes like ripe garbage, but basically anything he can choke down if he has to. I do understand about the ketchup. But vs. starvation, lack of ketchup wins.

There is a series called After Humans which documents what may happen if humans disappeared. Many animals and pets would be in trouble.

Is that what they mean when they say an actor is chewing up the scenery?

Many things are edible, but that doesn’t mean that we eat them. For example, chickweed is edible, and even quite good, but how many of you have ever eaten chickweed.

So that’s what they mean when an actor chews the scenery.

Verne can do it just fine, but as for RJ? I’m afraid he’s done for, since he’s subsisted mostly on Twinkies for so long and will refuse to eat anything healthy or green.

Indeed…I’m partial to the edible parts that come out of my oven as Chocolate Gateau…

I know if I got lost in the woods, I wouldn’t survive. Can’t tell an edible berry from a poisonous one. If my parents hadn’t told me about a tree in a neighbors yard not being edible for people, I might had tried them cause birds were eating them.

Tried foraging a dinner once in the Michigan woods. We found a lot of blackberries, and wild rice, but there were more mosquitoes than rice, so we passed on that. Though we knew there morrells near-by, didn’t chance any mushrooms. Those were good berries. If it had been a matter of NEEDING the food, we could have found more vegetation, and lots of game.
