    Good morning™, everyone!

Luigi isn’t working too hard and doesn’t care at all about what may be going on with Coffyhead and Bronko. Instead, he is busy playing Bugz & Werms on his cell phone. This is the game based on "Peanutbutter’s* former comic strip. We encountered Peanutbutter recently from July 23, 2021 (https://www.gocomics.com/dicktracy/2021/07/23), until July 29. He explained that his comic strip, “Bugs and Worms,” had been cancelled, but that it was doing great as a game. (They game company changed the spelling slightly to appear more hip, I suppose.)

For those who don’t remember, when he was a boy, Peanutbutter (real name Homer Barley) spent a lot of time at the police station, antagonizing Junior and criticizing Junior’s drawings. It was at that time when he came up with the idea for the “Bugs and Worms” comic strip.

Getting back to the today’s strip, this time Tracy is showing the warrant because Coffyhead’s establishment here is not open to the public so he has to prove that he has the right to gain entry.

Good morning™, “Are you being served ?” !

Oh, wait !  You have been served ! :-D I hope Dicky’s not going solo and has the place surrounded in case Coffy tries to run; something he likely wont do as he is sooo absorbed with Bronko busting.

Surprised Dick didn’t introduce himself as “Chief detective Dick Tracy!"

Nice depiction of smugness on Tracy.

Unless he has the entire mcu sitting outside as back up, tracy is being quite stupid issuing a warrant on his own….Mike seems to be writing tracy as more of a drama queen lately, I’m not digging it

Coffyhead’s going to be piping hot when he finds out that it took Dick Tracy to perk up his lackey who has bean steeped in a game on his phone. Luigi will be pressed to explain that one to his boss who no doubt will find that his organization has gone to pot. Not to worry; Tracy has grounds for his warrant that will bag Coffy, roast him, and give him plenty of time to brewed over it. I can’t wait to see his mug shots.

After showing him the warrant, it would behoove Tracy to put handcuffs on Luigi. And where is Sam, I hope this is not a one-man operation. Coffeyhead could throw hot java as well as hot lead at him.

1-THE SHADOW: May I come in? LOOGIE: Why not? Just because our drugged furniture just got found out and this isn’t a retail establishment that expects walk in business doesn’t mean we don’t welcome all strangers off the street…

2-…I mean, why would we be concerned about someone suddenly coming in here when that’s never ever happened before? We got nothing to worry about!

3-DT: AHA! THIS IS A RAID! We’ve heard reports that you’ve been removing those tags from your furniture that say “DON’T REMOVE THIS TAG UNDER PENALTY OF LAW”. This warrant says I can check STARTING WITH THIS DESK!

LOOGIE: YIKES! Lemme save you the trouble…yep, it’s here! No need to check. I’m looking at it right now.

DT: Darn it. Well I’ll just check that really lumpy stuffed chair over there then.

LOOGIE: Help yourself. I’ll…uh…be outside having a smoke if you need me.

DT: OK. I’ll let you know when I’m fin…wow. He really must’ve needed that smoke!

I’ve been reading DC for decades but my memory, let’s say, is past its “Best By” date. Have we seen Dick serve many actual warrants in the past? Could Mike be reacting to recent complaints about warrantless actions?

    Great art Shelley.

Looks more like Junior using Bronko’s name than Bronko.

In the original story,Bronko was played as an older big hulk who was at least 6 inches taller than Junior. If it’s him,he’s shrunk!!

But I remember the original story well—-all that remains is ifCoffy makes a stupid break for it and dies in a really weird way. We’re kinda homesick for that sort of thing.

Way back in t he 1880’s,a famous outllaw band known as The Dalton Brothers thought a town in Kansas would be easy pickings,

They had two banks across the street from each other. The gang split up and tried to rob both banks at the same time.

When it was all over only one of th em was left alive.

And every year, the town holds a festival commemorating the failed robbery.

    Name of the town?Coffeyville,Kansas!!

I did enjoy the Gothic font for “Warrant”. “Take this information and get it over to the engraver!”

PS: I tried to paste some Gothic text into a message to see what GC would do with it. The answer was, “Wait There Until You Do Things Right.”

Ha! Detective Dick Tracy snaps Luigi out of his lazy reverie, playing Bugz & Worms rather than tending alertly to business, and Luigi tips over his chair, dropping his smartphone and bottled drink!

Pay more attention next time (if there is a “next time” for you), henchboy!

Meanwhile, it looks like Coffyhead is going to be going down! I hope Bronko has survived….
