Ramirez doesn’t believe in climate change or that deposits of oil, coal, gas are limited to what’s there already. Or else he’s being paid to pretend.

In other words he’s either dumber than high heels on a pig or a paid liar. Possibly both…

Finite resources — e.g. fossil fuels — become impractically expensive when they are being depleted faster than they can be replenished, (if they can be replenished).

All the hand wringing over the old finite resource argument for fossil fuels. As if that argument makes any sense in the debate of ending fossil fuel and reliance on renewables.

Last I checked, many of the raw materials for the non-fossil fuel approach are also limited resources, far rarer than oil and gas, and are already impractically expensive. That’s why there are huge government subsidies for all aspects of the renewables approach.

But logic like that has long been in short supply on the left.

Once again, you’re perpetuating ignorance. I know that’s the way of conservatives, but being a Luddite never helps anything. The same mentality eschewed the horse-less carriage back in the day. Don’t be one of them.

Yeah, I remember when we had cheap and reliable energy. It was the 1960’s. Ever since 1973 we’ve been held hostage to ever rising fossil fuel costs that fluctuated wildly with every global crisis. But he’s right, once global warming collapses civilization we’ll long for the days of energy independence.

If you think EVs are the solution, read Cobalt Red. They are using children in the DRC to mine cobalt by hand for around $1 a day, so affluent Americans can buy an $80K EV and think they are saving the world.

The usual load of horse s@#$ from “Boring baroden”. Up to his old gaslighting Soros/DNC tricks. That’s pretty weak psychology, baroden,“Don’t be one of them”. Sounds like a PSA, “Just say NO”. By the way, we have some modern day Luddites that are being persecuted by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture—the Amish farmers. Fact check it.

“… While numerous companies are actively involved in the development of solid-state batteries, Japanese enterprises have emerged as leaders in this field. In October 2023, Toyota and Idemitsu Kosan announced a partnership to develop solid-state batteries for EVs. The companies aim to establish a robust supply chain and mass produce commercial solid-state EV batteries as early as 2027.Toyota and Idemitsu Kosan will focus on sulfide solid electrolytes, which they believe are promising for EVs due to their softness, flexibility and adherence to other materials that contributes to an efficient production process. Its crack resistance potential holds promise in solving a major challenge associated with solid-state batteries.Honda is also seeking to transition from liquid to solid electrolytes, with the company recently suggesting that solid-state batteries may be a way to make EVs more affordable. To facilitate large-scale production of solid-state batteries, Honda is working on defining fabrication techniques and selecting optimal materials. The company is employing specialized stamping processing techniques to enhance the solid electrolyte density. Together with careful material selection, these efforts aim to improve the interface between electrodes and electrolytes, thereby providing a smoother flow of ions. …” — engineering .com/story/solid-state-ev-batteries-are-closer-than-you-think

The United States i still the number 1 largest exporter of oil in the world. We export more oil than any other nation! The apologists blame prices on a global marketplace for oil, and the oil companies laugh all the way to the bank! But blaming current administration policies for hurting energy independence is a lie. Stop sending so much oil overseas and our country has plenty more than enough!

My heat pump is nearing its life expectancy and will eventually need replacing. My A/C repairman tells me I will also need to replace my perfectly good air handler to comply with even newer Biden EPA regulations. Although my air handler is compliant with the new standards, the EPA has only tested and approved new equipment, not older ones. Once again the refrigerant must also be replaced. It seems every few years the standards are jerked around. Another wrinkle. The USA no longer manufactures that new refrigerant since Biden. These climate change cultists are out of control.

Who Sets Oil and Gas Prices?Richard Joswick, head of global oil analytics at S&P Global Platts, told Newsweek that the price of oil and gas is not controlled, “it’s market pricing” and it depends mostly on supply and demand for the product.

Joswick explained that markets move together, based on a few main benchmarks that determine the price for multiple grades of crude oils, including varieties and blends. There are three main benchmarks to look at, according to Joswick—dated Brent being the most important for crude oil, the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) for gasoline and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) price for diesel.

The main factors impacting gasoline prices at the pump, according to the American Petroleum Institute (API), are the cost of global crude oil (61 percent), refining costs (14 percent), distribution and marketing costs (11 percent) and federal and state taxes (14 percent).

The U.S. is energy independent, and has been since the Obama Admin., exporting oil. Big oil refuses to lower pricing, claiming they market by world oil pricing. It’s time for the re-emergence of the ‘Windfall Profits Tax’ that big oil hates so much.

The EPA and the Government swamp in general has grown out of control due to the power hungry Democrat Marxists. Steppenwolf was uncannily predictive when they released “Monster” back in 1969:

“The spirit was freedom and justice

And it’s keepers seem generous and kind

It’s leaders were supposed to serve the country

But now they won’t pay it no mind

’Cause the people grew fat and got lazy

And now their vote is a meaningless joke

They babble about law and order

But it’s all just an echo of what they’ve been told

Yeah, there’s a monster on the loose

It’s got our heads into a noose

And it just sits there watchin’”

    “America where are you now

Don’t you care about your sons and daughters

    America we need you now

We can’t fight alone against the monster.

We need to get back to the true ideals and morality of the spirit of America. Vote for freedom and justice. Vote Republican.

Either Ramirez got his quarterly check with his marching orders from the Fossil Fuel billionaires that own the Republicans, or he’s really shaken by how the Stormy Daniels election interference trial is going. More oil is being produced in the US than at any time in our history.

Terrestrial coal is well known to have been from biotic materials over millions of years. This may not be the case for petroleum especially for those deposits deeper than 3500 feet and almost certainly not for those deeper than 10,000 feet. There is growing evidence that deep petroleum is abiotic or abiogenic in nature, created deep within the Earth’s crust near the Mantle. Hydrocarbons such as Methane are abundant in the solar system especially in the outer gas giants and some their moons. Methane is also abundant in the Earth and it has been proven in the lab that under heat and pressure that exists near the mantle, methane will combine with other substances to form petroleum which under pressure seeps up through the Earth’s crust. This would solve the mystery why wells considered pumped dry, years later were found to be refilled. So, there are two factions on opposite sides of this issue, the Peak Oil crowd who contend there will come a point where production will peak and then begin to decline, and the Abundance Oil group who believe that petroleum will not run out for many hundreds if not thousands of years.

As an interesting side note, it was oil baron John D. Rockefeller who widely bandied about the term “fossil fuels “ in order to promote the notion that oil was a limited resource in order to drive up the prices.

Energy Independence should be developed from solar, wind, water, wave…let’s use the natural forces that act upon the earth to provide our power requirements and save carbon resources for plastics & chemicals.
