Biden’s speech was upbeat, and very much a campaign speech.

The “counter point” was full of predictable FUD, skipping over anything positive and focusing only on things that MAGA wants to hear. I was bored…

“My friends on the other side of the aisle want to put Social Security on the chopping block,” he said. “If anyone here tries to cut Social Security, Medicare or raise the retirement age, I will stop you.”

I believe Mr Biden was channeling Liam Neesom of “TAKEN.” It would have been vastly better if he’d continued:

“. . . What I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you stop trying to cut Social Security, Medicare or raise the retirement age now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you . . .”

So the Alabama Senator spoke in rebuttal, giving an impassioned speech (screed) about the border, even though she helped author a bipartisan bill to fix it… and then voted against it after the mob boss fold them not to.

That’s all we need to know.

The State of Our Union: Democrats: The glass is half empty, but we’re working on filling it, and for everybody. GQP: The glass is half empty, so we’re punching holes in it, and then we’ll smash it against a stone wall.

I remember when the audience respectfully listened to the speech without heckling. Democrats still do that.

It was not a State of the Union speech. It was, however, a political speech that partly that tries to convince America that "the buck does not stop here. Biden is a failure and his administration is a failure.

Clay Bennett was lazy today. Must have had a deadline before the speech started. Enjoyable speech the rebuttal didn’t rebutt anything turned it off. President Biden has now shown there is a difference between him and his Republican predecessor.

President Biden proved he’s not too young to have wisdom and he’s not too old to fight for what he believes in. His speech was a tour de force.

Biden came out and punched the Republicans in the mouth. The Republican response was to put a woman in a kitchen. I guess she was making Trump a sandwich. The response was a disaster.

“He looks so angry when he’s talking.” – Trump

Donald Trump complained that Joe Biden looked angry when he was talking.

    I’m not making that up.

It used to be that conservatives were “the grownups in the room”. But now it looks like Biden and the Congressional Democrats are now the grownups in the room while the GOP are acting like whiny, petulant brats! Hopefully, they can build on this and continue to harangue the GOP on 86-ing the bipartisan border bill and convince independent swing voters to go with them. We also need to bring our A-game in November (and whenever your local primary is) and turn out with the same intensity as the MAGA base. Staying home on Election Day instead of voting (like 49% of eligible voters did on Election Day 2016) is a vote for Trump, so is voting third party. And it’s not just the Presidential race, all seats in Congress (and one third, 33 seats, of the Senate) are up for reelection as well. If we keep our eyes on the prize, and play our cards right, we can re-elect Biden, widen our Senate majority by a couple of seats and win back the House. Vote blue no matter who!

So trendy and “trad wife” of the Republicans to have Senator Serena Joy deliver her rebuttal from her kitchen. All that was missing was an embryo in a test tube.

Women of America, take note…and vote like your lives depend on it, because they do.

I sure am breathing easier this morning. I was worried that Biden wouldn’t be able to keep from looking like an old used up guy and today’s news would be about his gaffs. He didn’t just get a hit, he got a homerun, not just on the written speech, but with the dopes in the audience. I was always voting for, sending money to, and working for Biden, but I was scared that it might not work. Comparing Biden to Trump’s rambling complaints about how mean everyone is to him. WE GOT A WINNER!!!!

Senator Britt sounded (practically crying and whining) like she was in a commercial to help those tortured animals, or with the bald children for St. Judes’s.

As usual, what was missing were any actual POLICIES she and her other Trump cronies have to offer, besides sniveling and complaining while slavishly obeying whatever they are told.

You’d think she was the spokesperson for the Russian Duma, even while kicking her sisters in the gut.

There are two types of pro Trumpers that seemed to come out for this one 1) members of Putin’s troll army who are paid by the word, and 2) guys who really need to go to the gun range less as their lead poisoning levels are really showing.
