I never had a gun! I am against no permit carry laws, but c’mon man! Millions of those guns are here because of open borders and they are more likely to be involved in crime. How many gang members in the hood have registered guns (I don’t know but expect it is minimal). It seems to me the major problems are criminals and mental illness.

“Guns don’t kill people; people kill people.” Guns, modern ones especially that were unimaginable to the Framers of the Constitution, just make it one whole heck of a lot easier for people to kill people. Lots and lots and lots of people, every day, completely unnecessarily…

But only the Second half of the 2nd Amendment- ignoring the first half, which states “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”What part of ‘well-regulated’ do you not understand?

Did you know that when 2 gang members shoot at 1 gang member, that fits the definition of a mass shooting. Many use this as their definition: " A shooting that involves 3 or more persons."

Did you know that many use the definition of mass shooting as: ‘When 3 of more persons are involved." So when 2 gang members take a shot at 1 gang member, that’s one more reason to take guns away from law abiding citizens.

Yes, it is the people holding the guns. And since there is no control over who can hold one, then the problem is “guns”! I’ve said for years that to control the access to bullets would be the way to control people being killed by guns. Why do we allow gun dealers and Walmart to stock thousands of rounds?

In colonial days, and even during the revolution the ammunition and gun powder had to be imported from Great Britain. During battles the majority of those killed, who weren’t stabbed, were killed after being hit with a gun (rifle or pistol) that became just a club without ammo.

Closer to the Civil War the firepower was made more efficient and from that point on, without legislation, killing was on a spree. Especially, against native americans and people without the finances to arm themselves.

Lawsuits against the tobacco companies helped cut down smoking.

Lawsuits against gun manufacturers could force these killing providers to make guns safer and stop selling war weapons to civilians.

The recent shooting in Kansas City shoots down the theory of a good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun. There were 850 police officers with guns, some on the rooftops. Still, the bad guys shot 30 people.

I’ve seen some people say that there’s a problem with open carry. I’ve seen others say there’s a problem with concealed carry. I’ve never been able to figure out why it makes a difference one way or the other whether you can see the gun or not. Can anyone explain either position in some rational way?

Automatic weapons are illegal, and have been illegal since 1933. The AR15 is semi-automatic, and any modifications to make it fire as an automatic is illegal.

Semi-automatic weapons include pistols, rifles and shot guns. The AR15 is being targeted as an ‘assault rifle’ by dishonest politicians on both sides. The AR15 is NOT an assault rifle. It is not an automatic weapon and an assault rifle MUST be fully automatic to be an assault rifle. The AR15 functions the same as any other semi-automatic weapon, such as the M1 Garand, carbines, and a host of 30.06 hunting rifles. In fact, some use the AR15 for hunting. It just looks different. It looks like the M16A1 or the M4 fully automatic assault rifle. It’s looks are based in contemporary/modern design versus the older wood stock weapons.

This is where we should regulate as allowed by our 2nd Amendment:

Most states have a legal limit of 3 rounds in a hunting weapon. So, there is no need at all for anything more than the standard magazine in an AR15. 30 round capacity and more are not needed, nor intended, for civilian use. The ammunition itself also needs to be regulated. Hollow point and armor piercing rounds are not intended for civilian use either. These regulations should apply to ALL weapons, not just the AR15. Background checks are supported by most gun owners. Regulating the purchase of any firearm in every state is needed.

Don’t be fooled by those whose agenda is to confuse people, rather than solve the issue. Know the facts and not the hype. We need to make smart decisions, not knee-jerk reaction to supposed ‘leaders’ who aren’t interested in doing the hard work to solve the issue.

Insane gun cult can’t understand the amendment is about a well-regulated militia, and they are so insane they can’t see that a well-regulated militia would never allow anyone to carry a weapon or be part of a militia without a background check to see if they are a psycho or not, and they would have an age restriction. But if you are insane, then that part of the amendment is invisible.

As women and minorities are the fastest growing demographics of gun ownership, maybe the politicians will conclude they need to arrest and LOCK UP criminals, not catch and release. Sad that a majority of homicides in Chicago go unresolved, especially in the South Side where black on black murder is most common.
