I agree. I didn’t recognize most of the celebrities. I gave up cable in 2008 and hardly ever watch television. I spend too much time on the internet. So, I watched the You Tube versions of the commercials yesterday.
I recognized Arnold and Danny and thought it was the best commercial. I recognized some of the other “celebrities” but the ads were lame. Must be some in-jokes the kids are familiar with or they have a different sense of humor.
Based on the music in some of the commercials, I am surprised how much is still aimed at my generation. Then again, I watch Jeopardy and they know their audience are geriatric cases.
Haven’t watched most sports since the 70’s and don’t miss it. Watched ACC until Duke et al accepted the ‘once and done’ process. Won’t bother with it again.
So true. There were so many “celebrities” I didn’t recognize. That goes for what little of the half-time show I saw, too. I know who Usher is, but didn’t recognize anyone else.
And the music (don’t get me wrong — Usher was GOOD!). But it hit me when ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve suddenly became New Year’s Rappin’ Eve.

I personally didn’t see any ad that was worth $7 million.

Heck, I’ve even aged out of the halftime shows.

The target audience is 18-49. I left that over two decades ago. I enjoyed the game. The commercials and halftime show, not so much.

I would include the half time show, too.

My very same thought Jeff. I watched the Super Bowl and the ads thinking “Sigh…it’s a young person’s world”. As it should be.

I’ve aged out of the demographic for professional sports in general…

And then RFK Jr had to apologize to his FAMILY for the ad some PAC showed about him…I could have found far better ways to spend $7M…
