Way to turn it to the positive, Wallace! And the way the chilling middle panel is sandwiched between the idyllic forest panels … perfection.

At least now we know what they were gobblin’.

Nice to know that at least the one in the foreground is concerned for manners. He’s using a fork and knife and napkin.

Spud: “All my best memories include singing hip hop about all my best memories of lying in bed all day and eating mayo! Wallace, I’m too young to lose them now!”

That’s a new one. Where does he come up with this stuff? Can you imagine an adult Spud? He’ll have a nervous tic by then.

Wonderful comic strip. Not quite as high in my estimation as my four favourites – Calvin and Hobbes, Andy Capp, Wizard of Id, Red and Rover – but very good. It reminds me of my own childhood and my liking of legends, myths and superstitions.

If they were Nilbog fairies, Spud could ask Gary to chase them away with a bologna sandwich

I like how their wings go in a blur like a hummingbird’s wings! I’m imagining them flying like mosquitoes around people’s heads, not like we imagine regular fairies (who fly like butterflies).
