“The bipartisan border deal would not allow 5,000 illegal crossings per day, despite what Trump says… What’s become a popular talking point among conservative Republicans opposed to an emerging immigration bill is incorrect. Here’s what it would do.

So where did this 5,000-a-day figure come from?

The bipartisan deal does include provisions that would shut down the border entirely if a certain threshold is hit, but those are border encounters, not crossings. As noted above, no migrants trying to enter the U.S. illegally would be allowed into the country unless they passed asylum interviews or were being held under government supervision.

Under the new immigration bill, the Department of Homeland Security could close the border if too many migrants were showing up with asylum claims. After negotiators conferred with the Border Patrol and officials at the Department of Homeland Security, they crafted the legislation to give DHS the authority to close the border if they reached a seven-day average of 4,000 or more border encounters. A seven-day average of 5,000 or more would mandate a border closure. If the number exceeded 8,500 in a single day, there would also be a mandatory border closure.

What happens if the border is closed?

If the border were shut down, at least 1,400 migrants per day who tried to enter at official ports of entry would still qualify to have their asylum claims considered. The rest would be turned away."

It also allows the Prez to declare an emergency and ignore the 5000 limit. A limit that applies only to border space between ports of entry. The ports of entry will still be required to let illegal immigrants in. And yes, they are illegal if they falsely declare asylum status – a felony. Just ask Nadler. He called them illegal immigrants because that’s what they are.

Biden ignores the law today. Why would he care about this one. The Dems are pushing this so they can use it against Trump in 2025.

Quite the day of under-achievement and utter ineptitude from the MAGA cultists.

Dumped the immigration package with aid to Ukraine and Israel in the Senate.

Proposed a stand-alone package for the Ukraine and Israel aid in the Senate as a substitute — the very thing they griped about all the way back in October.

Failed miserably to pass their miserable impeachment of Mayorkas (this is a good thing, but demonstrates they do not have a governing caucus, or a whip, or anyone capable of simple math.

Failed to pass their substitute stand-alone bill for Israel aid in the House — which needed two-thirds to ensure passage. They were not even close, more head-counting fail.

Keep up the good work maga morons, looking forward to the “red wave” in November, it’s gonna be a bloodbath and they deserve it.

I dunno, I heard somewhere that the Border Patrol’s association has said it should be passed. But the noise machine is already distorting what’s in it and they were attacking it before they even saw what was in it.

5000 encounters but only counting those from Mexico and Canada. Does not count any from other countries. In other words, they’ll never get to 5000 as the vast majority are from other countries.

The reality is that the crossings would stop immediately if Biden would reinstitute Remain in Mexico and Stop Catch and Release. It is really very simple.

After the ‘threshold is hit, it’s the presidents option. And you think Biden will do something? A lot of words so that nothing changes. Typical politician speech coming from both sides.

The republican rejection of this bill shows that they are not serious about border control. The Border Patrol union, whose officials have actually read the bill want it passed. They know first hand what is needed.

The Republicans got the bill they asked for. The fact that they are rejecting it shows that they are not serious about securing the border. They love going down there for photo ops and wringing their hands—they don’t want to give that up. The Border Patrol Union has approved this bill and asked that it be passed. They know first hand what is needed and have actually read the bill. Listen to them and give them the help that they need.

And in return for codifying the border situation status quo, we get $60 billion for Ukraine, $14 billion for Israel, and $10 billion for Hamas. Oh, and a whole $650 million to expand the border wall. Wow! Where do I go to sign up for this good deal?

This is just another attempt to confuse people for an agenda. ILLEGAL immigration is back down to the levels under Obama after having spiked up under tRump. LEGAL immigration, migrants, immigrants and asylum seekers are the numbers surging at the border. They are being processed per our immigration Law written by congress. They appear in front of a judge who determines if they have a case. Those that do stay, those that do not are deported.

Illegal Mexican female immigrants are entering the country with the sole purpose of getting pregnant by some native born American. This interbreeding is crowding out those originally here – especially in the Western States. As we speak, the influx of female Mexican spadefoot toads has reached as far north as Montana. The border bill is so bad it looks like it won’t get the votes to make it out of the Senate. Even McConnell is leaning against it. Republicans don’t fear Trump, they fear their constituents. AZ Example: Jeff Flake.

‘MAGA out of control’: GOP Senator says commentator threatened to destroy him over border

A Republican lawmaker Wednesday accused an unnamed “popular commentator” of threatening to destroy him if he pushed bipartisan border control legislation before the 2024 presidential election.

Sen. James Lankford (R-O.K.) made this accusation in a Senate session to vote on his bipartisan $118 billion border security-foreign aid to Israel and Ukraine bill that political analysts believe could be dead on arrival.

“If you try to move a bill that solves the border crisis during the presidential year, I will do whatever I can to destroy you,” Lankford said he was told. “Because I do not want you to solve this during the presidential election.”

“This is disgusting!” wrote Tommy Lavin. “The Republicans need to take their party back. MAGA is out of control.”
