In Florida, they settled this one in a different way. Also, be glad the guy in the shower isn’t singing “Feelings!”

Letting people access resources for FREE?! What is this: socialist commie Russia China?!

If I could afford books, I could probably understand all the problems with that question.

Gotcha Ruben. GoComics is a huge company. They’ve made enough money. Instead of paying for a premium membership in a few months, I’ll just download an ad blocker

Per Ayn Rand, Big Publishing/Media = Makers, Public Libraries/Library Patrons = Takers. And now those Takers have turned to making our children transexual, and forcing down their throats divisive, anti-white racist propaganda like the writings of MLK, Alice Walker. /s

Rubin drew this in 2000 before the days of free and low-cost internet libraries, Amazon books, and desktop publishing. Remember the hue & cry from publishing houses and writers when these came into being?

Kindle books and KindleUnlimited have become an integral part of my life! There are no public libraries or bookstores close to where I live.

The information highway is vital to human progress. As soon as the printing press was developed ideas could flow from one mind to another. They could be understood and built on. It kicked development and invention into overdrive. The internet has upped the efficiency to the point where a guy can come up with an idea in his garage in Finland and anyone who wants to use that idea world wide can absorb it and use it by that afternoon. The only way to prevent this, if you want to make money from it, is to keep it off the internet. If your input and source of money requires that other people be aware of your ideas, such as written work, entertainment, you just have to be good enough at it that someone will pay you to do it and make it worth your while. And one way that people will become aware that you are good enough to be worth paying is to contact them through the internet.

Fiction isn’t covered by the DDS. It’s shelved alphabetically by author in the fiction section although there are genre subsections.

Echoes of Ruben’s Super Fun Pak Comix comic PSA from the National Booksellers Association, reminding you that the average library book has been in 17 bathrooms (best sellers lots more).
