Think about it. We don’t even have a court ruling that Jan 6th was an insurrection. Calling it one it a huge stretch given that most of the protestors were invited in through the front door. But the lies persist – like the dopey press secretary still talking about the police officers killed that day.

The threat to Democracy is real and from the left. And we all know it.

Donald Trump needs both types of punishment: legal and political. He should be punished by the legal system because he broke multiple laws. He should also be defeated in the political arena as he has repeatedly broken the founding principles of USA.

Norma Anderson, et al. v. Jena Griswold is a 2023 Colorado Supreme Court case in which the court rejected the presidential eligibility of Donald Trump, the former president of the United States and a candidate in the 2024 presidential election, on the basis of his actions during the January 6 Capitol attack.

The Supreme Court of Colorado ruled that trump was an instigator in an insurrection and, therefore, ineligible to appear on the ballot.

    The Court ruled it…

    I believe it…

    That ends it.

“Trump’s very candidacy undermines democracy. That Republicans would even think about nominating a man who tried to overturn the results of an election dims America as a democratic beacon; Trump winning would be catastrophic for democracy and the world”

No, they are following the Law in our constitution that is there to protect and preserve our democratic-republic. The Colorado Supreme Court determined that tRump is an insurrectionist by citing his own quotes, and based the case on tRump appointed Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch’s legal brief.

I’ve said this before: Speaking from the left, I don’t think trying to remove Trump from the ballot is a good idea. He should be defeated at the polls. For some decades (ever since Nixon), US politics has been troubled by the same kind of tit-for-tat politics that destroyed the Roman Republic. If Trump is removed from the ballot, the Republicans will think of a way to retaliate. Not good.

Funny (actually sad and pathetic) how some in America are just fine with letting a thug/thief/charleton.. stand for president. Let the “voters” decide.. from the very group that won’t accept any vote count that is not in their favor.

I’m fairly certain that our currently constituted SCOTUS will find a way to spit this hook. Some business about it only applies to Civil War rebels, or requires further action from Congress to establish a mechanism for determining eligibility, yada yada.

But, to expand upon the point of Brother or Sister Oil, above: Why the he!! would any loyal, patriotic American even countenance the notion of returning the Felonious Fraud to office? Three years ago tomorrow, he encouraged (or at least allowed) violence to take place just on the off chance it might allow his sorry ar$e to stay in office. From 1789 to 2017, no one ever tried to pull this cr@p. His actions are thoroughly disqualifying, 14th Amendment or not.

Retribution? Pardoning January 6th convicts? Who wants that America? I don’t!

Kelley is a mirror of the cult. I don’t read him for his foolishness. I read the comments to gauge just how bad his supporters are and if they have anything that makes sense. Sadly not so much yet but I keep hoping that the arguments will eventually have merit. The last thing a sane man does is ignore the rattle coming from an engine. The rattle like that of a snake is a warning that you have a serious problem.

I have got to ask. What kind of bs complacency excuses would they push about Jan 6 if the insurrectionists had hung pence, kil—led pelosi, drawn and quartered McCarthy and Moscow Mitch, plus any or all of the rest of congress and the senate? What does it take to cross the line with these id—iots. MTG, Bobert and the po—rno kings. Rich fools and sycophants in politics use to be limited to a manageable percentage. The game has changed and we are looking at a serious threat to our democracy and republic.

You did not see protestors beating police to the ground and spraying them with bear spray. You did not see protesters breaking into the Capitol Building. You did not see Sen. Hawley running for his life. They were singing “Kumbaya” and holding hands.

Yes, that is what they are doing.

I personally think it is a bad idea. I think he should be on the ballot, so he can legitimately lose.

But why is it so hard for you to logically comprehend that an insurrectionist shouldn’t be allowed on a ballot? Even if that insurrectionist is a “leading candidate”?

Look how those states voted in 2016. It’s no risk to Trump if, say, California keeps him off the ballot, but it can set a precedent so that Georgia and Pennsylvania can kick Biden off the ballot.

‘More time fighting than governing’: House Republicans are ‘quitting in droves’

News broke Friday that yet another Republican is leaving the U.S. House of Representatives: Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO). The Denver Post’s Seth Klamann tweeted that Lamborn is “not running for reelection,” and that “all three Republican-held Colorado congressional seats will all be up for grabs in November.”

After the Civil War it was deemed that allowing people that want to overthrow the American government into positions of power would be a bad idea. They were right, and that’s why Orange Traitor and over a hundred Repubs should never be allowed to run for any political office. Sadly, the USA is falling short on rule of law. Especially, when it comes to fascist Repubs.

trump, the 77 year old multi-decade serial criminal, was receiving money from adversarial countries.

While trump was allowed to live in the Whitehouse, he received at least $7.8 million in foreign payments from 20 countries, including contentious countries like China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, the DRC and Malaysia.

before his election, the criminal trump broke with U.S. precedent, and refused to divest from his businesses, or even put them into a blind trust when he took office.

No, it’s no threat to democracy. It IS democracy. We have a Constitution that sets out eligibility criteria for the presidency. There is a serious question whether or not Donald Trump is eligible. Some states are deciding he is not. These decisions are subject to adjudication by the courts. Because this is a federal issue, it has now risen to the Supreme Court, who has agreed to take the case. The Supreme Court is taking their role interpreting the Constitution. They’ll have the ultimate say-so.

This is how we’re set up to operate our government.

Hypothetically, if a state official decided Donald Trump wasn’t eligible because he was not yet 35 years old, the Trump campaign would do what? They’d sue in court and get it overturned. Same here.

I have concerns that three justices appointed by Trump can fairly adjudicate a case submitted to them by Trump about Trump. And I have serious concerns about Justice Thomas because of his wife’s related actions. But they’re the ones we have and they’ll decide. And that will be that.

Media coverage of the President’s first speech of the New Year yesterday full of positive comments…“best speech he’s ever give”…etc. I heard some silvery smooth generalities that really don’t say aything, but sound good. One thing he said, and repeated, I found very impressing becuse of how slick he twisted words to lie. He said “Donald Trump told us that he will be a dictator from his first day.” Anyone who heard Trump’s actual statement heard “I will be a dictator for one day,” promising to use his pen just as Joe did on his first day to repair the damage Joe had done. Did anyone else notice how he took the same words and flipped them just a little to completely distort what Trump had actually said? Tying it to the “threat to democracy” scare speech he has been drumming for a while shows exactly how cleverly Joe’s speech writers promote his biggest lies, and it has happened and will continue to happen because people listen to the sound of the words without hearing the meaning. The message is “fear” over and over. It’s time we pushed the fear aside and took a look at what has happened to our quality of life. Those who would deny voters to vote for any candidate of their choice are the real dictators and what greater threat to democracy is greater than impeding ballot choices?

Some of these comments stir a different question that really is disturbing. Yes you can vote for someone who you believe has the interests of the country and the people at heart. To argue that you would want the opportunity to vote for a Hitler or an Osama bin Laden or monsters like Hamas really is inappropriate. Recently young people embraced a b-s letter from OBL as ‘truth of the exploited.’ Propaganda is designed to make anyone (everyone) question right vs wrong. The officers who protected the capital that day had a choice; stay risk their lives to save our political institutions or run away and say ‘this is not what I signed up for.’ They stayed, saved lives and protected the people and our systems. If you want to ‘honor’ the mob, that’s your upbringing. Sorry but the reality here is simply, if reading this, and you say that a mob coming for you would be justified to beat, attack and kill you for protecting the values of our country, I would have to say if you believe that – pathetic, see a shrink, and try to deal with reality. When I was a kid, a friend of my psychotic step sister came at me with a crowbar to kill me because she asked him to. I did not hang around to debate with him. Your position is I should have laid down and die instead. The cops did their job. The ex orange rapist watched it on tv and cheers for them breaking the laws and not care who got hurt. Not someone I would want to be leading the FREE world. Someone I would want to see behind bars. My one serious regret is that it is taking so long for justice to come knocking.

It was then shown that the majority ruled in one state against and in another state for. Yet this democratic process is a threat to democracy? Yeah, ok…
