To be fair, in 2019 Bill Maher voiced the sentiments of many when he said, “A recession would be very worth getting rid of Donald Trump and these kinds of policies.” The party out of power is always painting the situation as awful.
Under Joe Biden’s watch we have: Inflation is up, America’s economy is awful, American workers are suffering financially. It’s as simple as this: Democrats are the party of denial.
The US economy is growing…. 8.8 Million open Jobs… Unemployment 18 straight months under 4 %… a manufacturing super cycle started by Biden’s build Back better pieces… 800,000 new manufacturing jobs… 13.5 million jobs created since Biden took office… small business applications are record levels with more that 10 Million applications to the SBA… and massive record investment in the US manufacturing construction sector… 3 times as great as before… 180 BILLION dollars per year.. " By the numbers: As of April, spending on manufacturing construction — new factories — is tracking at a $189 billion annual rate, triple the average rate in the 2010s ($63 billion).
And, all of this is being reported on the news. I can understand why it doesn’t seem to have made it into the collective national awareness. Propaganda that states the opposite influences those who read nothing more in depth than a cartoon or a bumper sticker. Those who produce material that provides that influence should be ashamed of themselves.
True, and corporate profits are at records – largely due to price gouging. But people tend to focus on any negatives, misremember the past as the good old days, and blame the current president. If today’s “laissez les bons temps rouler” continue perceptions may change by next November, but Biden still probably won’t get any benefit.
Inflation isn’t down is just lower but you need to measure from jan 20, 2020, and unless you are buying heavy machinery or a plane you wont feel it. Economy is improving but impede by bidenomics and economy coming out of red states is driving most of the progress.
While the current estimated 4.0% inflation rate is considerably lower than it was at its 7.0% peak in 2021, it is still twice the 2.0% average for the previous decade.
You’ll notice that all comments from right wingers include something about Biden or Bidenomics, but NONE of them reference ANY specific policy.
And, of course, then NEVER, ever mention market concentration and the absence of competition. Because, like wealth inequality, those things do not exist and never have.
Don’t worry. It took all of 24 hours for every economic reporter to start screaming “OMG! Deflation is coming and is way worse than you think!!!” Nothing scares the billionaires that own every economic rag than Dems winning especially when they’re so close to toppling Democracy and replacing it with Fascism. Well, until they have to go flee for their lives when they cross the crazies in charge like a bunch of German millionaires did after installing Adolf.

Yet another tragedy for Republicans: NO recession.
And they had their hearts set on one.

Thankfully, Florida and the southern states lead the way on lingering inflation?

I should be complaining that Bidenomics missed me, but I know better.

Let the Repubs continue to push for the U.S. to become a theocracy, to deny rights to women and minorities. They’re digging their own graves.

I saw gas for $3.15/gal last week.
My wages, which were stagnant during Defendant Trump, have risen every year during President Biden.
So has my savings acct balance.
My job is certainly more secure than it was 5 years ago.
