For the last 60 years Florida’s population has boomed. However, judging from the state’s leadership, I’m suspecting it wasn’t the “best and brightest” that moved down there.
I would have to assume that the taxpayers of Florida are now on the hook for running all of the municipal functions Disney used to handle on their own. How does that square with not raising taxes?
Yeah, as my pa has always told me, when it comes to conservatives, two and two never add up to four. They talk alot about the evils of the govmint holding bidnesses back with bothersome rules and regulations. But now when they perceive one of these bidnesses is practicing wokeness, well, if the conservative in question happens to be a politician, suddenly govmints can do whatever to said bidness to keep it from operating as if it’s owned by a bunch of goldang leelbruls, private sector my hindparts! And anyone see any conservatives scratchin’ their heads over the Budweiser thing, you know, sayin’ something like this: “Don’t agree with it, but it’s a private company – it can put whoever it wants on the side of its cans.” Not! And then there’s that idea of standing your ground… According to conservatives, that only applies as, say, a defense in court if the “defender” is on their team! And by extension, you also might want to think twice about “carrying” if you aint on the Right team. These folks change their tune when they see minorities carrying. (See the Black Panthers in California.) And they even change their tune when they see certain white guys carrying, like a white BLM protester. (See Gregg Abbott says he will pardon convicted Austin murderer.) No principles, all breath and britches, again, my pa’s words, this sums up conservatives. One final way to consider it, what would they all be doing right now if it came to light that George Soros had done for Kentanji Jackson what Harlan Crow has done for Clarence Thomas?
Nah! Florida has, throughout its history, its own share of crooks, crazies and weirdos. To learn more about this, read “Oh, Florida”, by Craig Pittman. Actually, if it’s weird, it’s in Florida.

Sadly it’s not the people of Florida paying, it’s the vacationers. There are taxes on top of taxes for hotel rooms, rental cars, etc.

What Republicans mean by “Small Government”: Arresting librarians for having books that aren’t approved by the State.

In a conflict between the disney corporation and the state of Florida, both are so awful that it’s really hard to root for either side.
