In the UK, we have laws on this kind of thing. Serious news outlets (all of them, print, TV… but not FB/Twitter/etc, which is a problem) have to publish corrections where they have been found by the complaints process to have lied or mislead. It used to be they would print it in small text buried in the back (for news papers), but as of 10-15 years ago it has to be the same prominence as the original. Guess what? They don’t lie so much, just have a political slant or do not report an issue.

Tucker admitted under oath in court that everything he says is a lie. If people want to believe an admitted liar, it says mountains about them.

A blow to fairies everywhere

I see that FOX attorneys are loudly denouncing the publication of the shocking internal communications of the little foxes as “distorted” and “twisted” and so on. Hardly. What’s to “twist” and “distort”? The language is plain and direct and (trust me) completely believable.

Carlson, FOX, and any other telling lies is protected by our 1st Amendment “Freedom of Speech”. Our Founders were clear about our rights, and our responsibilities of ‘self government’. However, if your actions cause a breaking of the law you are responsible for that act. “Fake news” has been with us since our beginnings. Nathan Hale never said “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”, it was made up. And the lies and innuendo of a dirty campaign between Adams and Jefferson rivaled any campaign since.

Our Founders were idealists in wanting Americans to take self government seriously, to make the effort, participate and be involved in the process. It is our charge to separate the fly poop from the pepper, reject the lies and find the truth. They knew we’d always have the liars with us. They knew we’d always have to fight for our Freedoms and our Rights against those who would lie to take them away.

Don’t censor, stop or lock up Tucker Carlson, or FOX ‘news’ for what is said. Use your 1st Amendment Right to oppose, debunk, prove the truth and expose the liars for what they are.

They should be prosecuted for lying with impunity and calling it News! That should not be protected by the 1st Amendment. It’s worse than yelling “Fire” in a crowded room. Trump openly promises to be a dictator if he gets elected again and DeSantis is an unrepentant fascist. How do people fall for their crap?

If the intent is to compare his output to the classic ‘fairy tales’ then it isn’t valid. Grimm’s etc. were intended to provide a series of lessons on how to best deal with life situations, with a positive approach and outcome. Tucker’s intent is anything but any of the above.
