From 16 Magazine’s Quick ‘n’ Easy Gift Box Contest on The Blog: not quite sure who #2 is, but there’s a fair chance it’s Petula Clark, artist of the famous and overplayed “Downtown” ear worm. #3 is clearly David McCallum, who starred as Illya Kuryakin in the very hip “The Man from U.N.C.L.E” (1964-1968). Co-star Robert Vaughn (playing Napoleon Solo) was the better-known performer, but McCallum soon took over first place in popularity because of his cool demeanor and black turtleneck shirts. McCallum much later did an excellent turn in “NCIS” as medical examiner and all-round eminence grise Donald “Ducky” Mallard, MD, PhD.
