In Florida, guns are welcome and embraced, but it is books — knowledge — that is seen as a threat to the mindless historic, scientific and even mathematic illiteracy and innumeracy that the religious conservative establishment depends on to keep the ignorati voting for them.

The original sin of Judeo-Christian mythology? A woman daring to seek knowledge.

It goes all the way back to the very beginnings of the Bible, when Eve dared to think for herself and partook of the forbidden fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. And for today’s religious conservative establishment, it is not just knowledge about good and evil (which they are sorely lacking based on the precepts of even their own holy book), but knowledge of history, science and even math. Knowledge — especially in the hands of the women or minorities over whom they wish to wield control — is the greatest great to them which is why Trump “loves the uneducated.”

Books are knowledge. Books are the fruit dangling from the Tree of Knowledge.

Women with knowledge are the greatest threat to religious superstition.

According to the Bible legend, Adam and Eve could eat freely from any tree except the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, because knowledge represents free thought and free thought is the enemy of just existing as a mindless automaton.

Of course, if they were forbidden the Knowledge of Good and Evil, how could they know what was evil and what was not? How could they even know that disobedience was evil? A sin?

Ah, “mysterious ways” and all that.

Parents should have a say in what their little darlings are taught without having to pay for private school. Woke and preachy classes should be electives. Funny cartoon however exhibiting Mike’s humor by exaggeration.

Seems like the left missed the story of how the Black history AP course has been changed to cut out the CRT training. And the NYT referred to the deleted sections as “CRT” – so yes they do teach it.

    From NYT

“On Tuesday, DeSantis unveiled a proposal to overhaul higher education that would eliminate what he called “ideological conformity” by, among other things, mandating courses in Western civilization.

Death Sentence is pandering to Traitor Trump’s base: racist grade school dropouts. That might or might not let him win the Republican nomination, but I doubt he could win a nationwide general election doing that. By the way, how many court challenges to his idiotic proposals are there already, with how many more to follow?

I was confused for awhile about what the “eff-eye” stood for in the sign. Female incontinence? Festering infection? Foreign interference? It eventually dawned on me that the 2nd character was supposed to be a lower-case “L”. But why? Not enuf room to spell out “Florida”?
