My wife and I both love unique words. She shared “piker” with me several years ago after she read it in a JD Robb book. Every once in a while she says, “Don’t be a piker.” Funny how you can remember details like this.
Frazz reminds me a bit of John Prine, an acclaimed folk songwriter/singer, who wrote many of his early songs in his head while delivering mail in Chicago. We lost Prine to COVID on April 7, 2020.
Some may not have heard of him, but you have surely heard his songs:
Make note of the day — Feb. 8 — and see if you can also note up to 4 others during 2023 in which Frazz refers to music at all, let alone as his “main gig”.
The sweeping whisper of the broom hiss of dust brushed into a pile cascading rustle of paper lapping of the mop across the tile these are the sounds of my night

Cartoonists wear clothes?!?
(I would have typed that all in caps, for emphasis, but I didn’t want anyone to think I was angry.)

I guess this isn’t really breaking the fourth wall, but it does poke a hole in it and pokes a mirror through.
