    • Gas Prices / Energy Prices…

…are terrible. Europe pays $7 a gallon. Middle Easterners & South Americans pay $2, except for Iran’s 20¢ and Venezuela’s 6¢. This week we pay an average of $4 per gallon.

If you base your vote on the price of gas, it could well be the stupidest thing you will ever do.

    • Economy / Inflation

With very, very few exceptions, the U.S. economy is controlled by Wall Street – not the President. All we can do is keep a close watch on how badly the tycoons rip us off and interest rates. Unemployment seems to have vanished. Workers are organizing all over.

    • Crime

We put more people in jail than any nation on Earth. The criminals we all fret over are our neighbors. Crime is local phenomena. Billions of federal tax $ flow to local P.D.s every year, and every year they spend it up on…? [ask your local sheriff]

    • Open Borders ➝ LIE

Same as ever. The number of immigrants goes up & down according to what is happening in other countries, not ours. Our borders are patrolled same as ever, undocumented people are detained same as ever.

    • Spending – is way down with this administration.

    • Woke ➝ DOG WHISTLE

Apparently, some of us are not white & straight. Is it too much to expect equal treatment for all? I mean, We hold these truths to be self evident…

    • Socialism

Might as well scare us with Huff-a-lumpism, for all the good it will do ya. Senator Joe Biden was a moderate M.I.C. corporate Democrat. President Biden is a moderate M.I.C. corporate Democrat.

    • Big Gov

The size of the United States government is precisely the same whether our representatives & executives are R, D, or I. If you base your vote on this, it will be the second stupidest thing…

    • Abortion

The only thing on the list that we have a choice on. Women will not be put back in the cage. Seems pretty important compared to anything I can think of.

And, here are some of the accomplishments of the Biden administration (in less than 2 years): Cut childhood poverty in half with the American Rescue Plan; organized an effective (so far) response to the illegal Russian invasion of Ukraine; strengthened NATO alliance adding Sweden and Finland to stand up to Russia; unemployment at historic lows; capped drug prices for seniors on Medicare at $2000 in the Inflation Reduction Act; signed the PACT act to address service members’ exposure to burn pits and other toxins; signed the CHIPS and Science Act to boost innovation in American technology; signed BIPARTISAN infrastructure legislation that will begin to address well documented problems in that area; nominated the first African-American woman to the USSC; made the first significant investment to fight climate change; brought back a sense of dignity, empathy and professionalism to the Executive Branch.

Look what happened in England when they elected a new conservative. She did what all conservatives do to solve any problem. She cut taxes on the wealthy. Their inflation rate went through the roof and their stock market crashed. That’s what you can expect if the GOP gets back in power. They will continue to insist that everyone can have all the guns and ammunition they want and then complain about crime and—what a joke when they champion the people who beat up cops when invading our Capitol and call for defunding the FBI when the FBI goes after Republicans who break the law.

SCOTUS did not take away the right(?) to have an abortion. The issue has been sent back to the individual states to determine the will of the people who live within them. Many of those states have old laws that are completely out of sync with what most people believe about the issue. Some states have no law on the books about abortion at all.Start campaigning for the state you live in to do what they should have done already.

I don’t think big government and inflation is something we can solely hang on the D’s. Spending and growth of government was quite a bit higher under Trump than Obama, believe it or not, and very much contrary to R “branding”. Some due to pandemic, but that’s really no excuse for the continuing increase in the percent of spending of federal monies on “entitlements,” “industrial policy,” and other powers not expressly delegated to the feds in A2S8.

I suspect a good many of those problems are caused by the lack of easy abortions. An unwanted child tends to grow up as a problem to society.

And.. there are far too many people on this planet already. If, culling is necessary.. as it may well be someday in the future given the exponential growth.. before the baby is born is probably the best time.

All the destruction shown (except “woke” and that makes no sense) was caused by Republican policies and actions. The economy, energy prices and inflation were excellent until Mango Mussolini got elected. North American hydrocarbon development hit the skids primarily because the financial sector didn’t want to be stuck with assets that were being phased out. Meanwhile Trump’s idol Putin decided it was a good time to attack Ukraine and disrupt world energy supplies.

Ya Mr. Biden, you’re right. When we’re spending more shopping and paying bills and fear traveling to the city, abortion rights is ALL we talk about because that’s a really big deal for us seniors. Especially when it’s still available in our state.

T’ain’t true. But at least it has more substance than the Right’s distraction, Hunter. If there was substance (like Hillary’s alleged crimes which Crooked Donny had years in power to pursue if true), it would have been acted on. The alleged Hunter situation existed before Joe was in any position to influence the FBI.As far as real crimes, whereas Trump is still yet to be charged, Steve Bannon, another of Trump’s “best people” from the Republican overflowing swamp, has joined the ranks of the convicted.

Trump’s plague didn’t magically disappear when Biden took office. It was out of control.. The way to make a plague disappear is to never let it get out of control in the first place. Trump cut the team that Obama set up to do that out of the 2018 budget.

We also have a financial mess crated by Trump’s failure to manage the pandemic, or even make a legitimate effort to do so. This is going to take years and a massive effort to correct. We were lucky to avoid another great depression, and the economy is going to be messed up for much longer.

The Republicans have created messes every time they have had the White House in my memory, which means that we can’t make any progress because the entire Democratic administration has to be dedicated to repairing the damage. Since we will still be digging out of the mess the Republicans left in 2024, there is a good chance that people will be stupid enough to put them back in the White House, so they can create more mess for the next Democrat to get stuck with.

Gas lighting at an all time high with this toon. The Republicans had their anti abortionists on the corner of my town, all of them, of an age that they have no risk of getting pregnant, a couple of weeks ago. They always pull them out when they realize they aren’t popular. Of course, with women dying or nearly dying from complicated pregnancies that just a year ago wouldn’t have, is certainly bringing to light how ridiculous the anti choice laws are.

Republicans making doctors call lawyers before making private life saving medical decisions for their patients. Some of them deciding not to save the woman’s life until she is nearly dead. Often, leaving her unable to have children or safe pregnancies in the future. Disgusting the Republican Party has become, just disgusting.

US politics’ post-shame era: how Republicans became the party of hate

Perhaps nothing captures the charge more eloquently than a three-word post that appeared on the official Twitter account for Republicans on the House of Representatives’ judiciary committee – ranking member Jim Jordan – on 6 October. It said, simply and strangely: “Kanye. Elon. Trump.”

The first of this unholy trinity referred to Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West, who has recently drawn fierce criticism for wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt at Paris fashion week and for antisemitic messages on social media, including one that said he would soon go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE”.

The second was billionaire Elon Musk, who published a pro-Russian peace plan for Ukraine and denied reports that he had been spoken to Russian autocrat Vladimir Putin.

The third was former president Donald Trump, who wrote last weekend that American Jews have offered insufficient praise of his policies toward Israel, warning that they need to “get their act together” before “it is too late!” The comment played into the antisemitic prejudice that American Jews have dual loyalties to the US and Israel.

It was condemned by the White House as “insulting” and “antisemitic”. But when historian Michael Beschloss tweeted: “Do any Republican Party leaders have any comment at all on Trump’s admonition to American Jews?”, the silence was deafening.

Ramirez wants this girl to suffer.

    https://abcnews.go.com/GMA/Wellness/mom-speaks-14-year-daughter-denied-arthritis-medication/story?id=91107896

Ramirez wants women to die from ectopic pregnancies.

Republicans voted against the bill to stop oil companies from price-gouging, which contributed to inflation and economic problems – Ramirez and Repubs are hypocrites on these issues.

Woke is used to denigrate people that believe the people in the U.S. should know our entire history warts and all. If you can’t handle the truth, then you revel in ignorance.

Everytime I read something like this I am reminded that people like Ramirez and his followers do not understand the words they throw about.

Take Socialism. Socialism is defined as “a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.” (Oxford Dictionary). There certainly people who believe that is how it should be, but that is not even remotely what any major party is proposing.

Take “open border”. An open border means that there is no border or no attempt to prevent or regulate border crossings. This is obviously not true. No party is proposing that. In fact this year will see a record number of migrant arrests at the border (2.4 million so far this year). Obviously the Biden administration is fighting to stem the flow of people crossing our southern border.

Woke. Merriam-Webster defines it as “aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice)”. The Urban dictionary – "To be “woke” means you’re now informed of things you did not know. You are not “in the dark” about other societies and cultures whose past has been edited and censored to make you think it wasn’t as bad as it actually was." Ironically “woke” is also used by extreme right wingers when they are talking about their various conspiracy theories.

The right says it hates big government, but they don’t seem to mind it when they control government and start poking around in your bedroom or classroom. Or if you want an abortion (or have a miscarriage). They don’t mind spending big on their programs.

This is their 2022 campaign strategy. Make up scary stuff, exaggerate, inflame, BUT DO NOT PROPOSE ANY SOLUTIONS. If they did that they’d lose hands down.
