This reminds me of a Wizard of Id Classic. Turnkey asked the Spook what the weather was like outside. The Spook looked out of the window and told him. The Spook then thought, “Poor guy! He doesn’t have his own window.”
This sounds like the reasoning used by one of the twins on last night’s Father Brown episode. The twin that did the other twins time in the gaol thought he had it good cause he had three free meals a day and the murderer twin had to make do on the outside. That really makes sense in an unfeeling sort of way.

Inmates can overslept and meals are still served.

Spook is keeping track of going nowhere fast: “Tally ho!”

At least he gets to see something else when his shift is done. The Spook just gets to four walls plus the ceiling, and floor, 24/7.

Got that right! That little fink will never commute his sentence.

Being in jail is better than being a jailer.

Well, that’s pretty spot on. At least Turnkey doesn’t have to work from home. Yes, I am complaining about working from home.

See how great you inmates have it here!! Free room and board, cable and gym. And now you get a “cashless” bail coming up. Almost tempted to apply lol

Eventually, some prisoners get to leave and hopefully not come back. HACKs usually work until they’re vested.

He’s lucky, in American prisons he’d be an indentured servant
