Halloween (a celebration in remembrance of the dead) 2022 will be held on Monday, October 31. The 2022 United States elections will be held on Tuesday, November 8. Are there any connection? Spoooooooooky

40 years ago I marched in support of the Equal Rights Amendment. It never passed. I knew then that women’s rights in this country would always be under attack! 6 years ago, I warned my women friends that our right to choose would be stolen from us … and it was. And now I’m warning my LGBTQ friends (including my Episcopalian pastor and his husband) that their rights are poised to be stolen too. “First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Socialist. An old expression that fits the current national mood… “Whistling Past the Graveyard.”

The Supreme Court Justice’s don’t have to worry about elections. They are above petty political and religious issues. /S

After all the dog whistles and loudspeakers about repealing it, whistling past the graveyard isn’t an option.

Abortion rights. Continued 2020 election denials. Being in bed with white nationalists. Attempts to suppress the rights of those they consider undesireable. The Alt-Reich is belting out a symphony and people are listening.

Wishful thinking. The Roe v Wade decision WILL shift the numbers but not enough. The Dems will still lose both the house and senate, just by less then they were going to.

Democrats really have no faith in their fellow voters! But a reasonable compromise disrupts their claim that it’s all or nothing.

An apt drawing, since those that refer to an embryo as the unborn should, using the same logic, call themselves the undead.

They just don’t understand or don’t get that they have ticked off a whole lot of people that believe a woman has the right to choose what she does with HER body!

We will have failed as a democracy if they don’t get buried at the ballot box. It is time for every American to vote.

In 2022 we need to make Republicans Ir-elephant.

Obergefell is next on the SCOTUS hit list. Republicans insist they “don’t want to hurt anyone”, yet they won’t pass the Respect for Marriage Act to make sure millions of married couples won’t suddenly be stripped of their rights. The truth is they want religious bigots to control your lives. It doesn’t end with Obergefell.
