GQPists create conspiracy theories out of ANY (and NO) thing. The inflation reduction act probably does get a little more attention because you know, DA‍M‍NED DEMOCRATS, but they come up with plenty all by themselves.

Did you know that you can’t spell DemoCRaT without CRT?

Loads of steaming man-re, I mean, conspiracies! And the MAGA enablers have hardly plumbed the depths of Numerology for interesting bunkum. They need to find an unethical, creative Numerologist, as in the fictional character, Dr. Joshua Matrix, created by Martin Gardner in “Scientific American.” Matrix is dead, but surely there are comparable charlatans to replace him.

If a Democrat takes a breath it kicks off a dozen conspiracy theories. Distraction, delusion, and denial are some of the main tools in the repugs toolbox.

A theory is a proposition made to be tested by evidence, experimentation, and facts. If the proposition is borne out by evidence, experimentation, and facts it can be presumed true. If the proposition is not borne out by evidence, experimentation, and facts it can be presumed false, and is, therefore, immediately elevated to a plank in the Republican platform. /s

The Republicans will either have to move left or lose the middle ground of their party. They can’t win with nothing but the MAGAts, and even the MAGAts will have to wake up and smell the coffee once they no longer have Trump to blind them. Faux news is demonstrating that. They have realized that keeping up the hoax is no longer a viable option. Republicans in congress will gradually realize that they are fighting a losing battle and they will need to jump ship to get reelected. At the present time, they only stay in power by lying and cheating in any way they can. When people are given a choice of two statements on issues that actually affect their everyday life, one that describes the Republican position and the other the Democrat’s, the Democratic position is chosen by about 85% of Democrats and Independents. No surprise there. The weird part is that just under half of Republicans also choose Democrat positions, unless they are told which position is supported by each party. Then they fall into line and choose the Republican option- 78% of the time. So, it is entirely reasonable for Republicans to lie a lot. The people running the Republican party are in that half of the Republicans who actually believe in Republican positions. They are roughly 25% of the voting public. They have no chance of ever winning a national election unless they keep as many people as possible from voting and keep the rest of them confused enough to vote against their own best interests.

People, I know I’m probably preaching to the choir here, but it is very, very important that everyone vote in the midterms. Otherwise these Trumpublican cynical opportunist kleptocratic nut jobs will take over the legislature and will remain in office forever. May be too late already, but we’ve got to try.

Trump hired cronies to search top-secret docs he believed would erase ‘stain’ of his impeachment: former NYT reporter

“I think in the last chaotic days of the Trump administration, Donald Trump was desperate for documents that he thought would somehow absolve him of the offenses for which he was impeached and criminally investigated,” Weiner told the host. “I think that he believes that there is some smoking gun in the classified archives of the government that will somehow cleanse him and allow him to run again, that will provide him with political leverage.”

“Whether these documents are, in fact, helpful to the president or not is immaterial! He has no right to have them, they are the property of the American people, not a twice-impeached former president,” he added.

“You talk about what he did prior to leaving office and who he put in certain places. Why is that important here?” host Berman pressed.

“That’s right,” the journalist replied. “In the last year of his administration, President Trump put unqualified loyalists at the top of the intelligence community and the Pentagon, and he wanted them to rifle through the classified files in search of documents, which he believed would somehow cleanse him of the stain of his impeachments and of the counterintelligence investigation, the FBI launched six full years ago against Donald Trump and his inner circle.”

“These documents may or may not be what he was looking for,” he added. “In other words, he wanted his own set of secret files that he thought would be political ammunition and I believe that’s what’s in those boxes.”
