Trump sent a violent mob that he knew was heavily armed to storm the Capitol after he had whipped them into an angry frenzy, and then stole highly classified documents that his advisors had warned him were illegal to take.

So now, boo hoo, the Trump cult worshippers who praised an armed, violent insurrection attempt to overthrow the United States government, are whining about a lawful judicially-approved search warrant being carried out by the FBI. Some Trumpers — the same ones who falsely claimed that Democrats were calling to “defund the police,” which no elected Democrat did — are now even calling to defund the FBI.

Yes, the FBI conducted a raid on Mar-a-Lago.

The Director of the FBI is Christopher Wray, who was appointed by Trump after he fired James Comey.

Such a raid on a former president would have required not only the signed approval of Merrick Garland, but also an independent Federal Judge.

The submission of a warrant request who have to specify exactly what they were looking for, their basis for probable cause that it would uncover information and/or evidence relevant to past or ongoing crimes.

If you can’t stand the search, don’t take the merch.

We do not know what documents the FBI recovered, but apparently all the walls at Mar-a-Lago are stained with ketchup.

This is really basic law enforcement under constitutional law. A judge would not sign off without: 1. probable cause 2. a list of specific items to be searched for 3. specific places to be searched. And followed up by a tightly controlled chain of custody listing items seized and where they were found.
