Trump sent a violent mob that he knew was heavily armed to storm the Capitol after he had whipped them into an angry frenzy, and then stole highly classified documents that his advisors had warned him were illegal to take.
So now, boo hoo, the Trump cult worshippers who praised an armed, violent insurrection attempt to overthrow the United States government, are whining about a lawful judicially-approved search warrant being carried out by the FBI. Some Trumpers — the same ones who falsely claimed that Democrats were calling to “defund the police,” which no elected Democrat did — are now even calling to defund the FBI.
Yes, the FBI conducted a raid on Mar-a-Lago.
The Director of the FBI is Christopher Wray, who was appointed by Trump after he fired James Comey.
Such a raid on a former president would have required not only the signed approval of Merrick Garland, but also an independent Federal Judge.
The submission of a warrant request who have to specify exactly what they were looking for, their basis for probable cause that it would uncover information and/or evidence relevant to past or ongoing crimes.
If you can’t stand the search, don’t take the merch.
We do not know what documents the FBI recovered, but apparently all the walls at Mar-a-Lago are stained with ketchup.
Naturally. MAGA Nation is trying to discredit the entire raid: From claiming Trump and co. were never given copies of the warrant to claiming the judge’s former connection to Jeffrey Epstein means some sort of conspiracy is afoot.
That’s one nail. Another will be his tax returns, which will finally be made public. The average tax-paying American will see just how corrupt our tax laws are.
FBI gave secret service a one hour courtesy call. Before they came and smashed the doors and windows and forced they way in and busted the safe and left the fridge door open.
Hmmm? Why haven’t we heard anything from guiliani?
Such a victim, isn’t he, Republican sycophants and propagandists?
Did the FBI arrive in the middle of the night? Did they kick in the door and charge in? Did they forget to announce who they were and why they were there? Did they start shooting randomly and into other people’s residences (oh, right…no one is allowed to live there because it’s a club…)? Did they kill anyone?
Think Breonna Taylor, for just one example.
Lying whiners. Screaming false equivalents. It sickens me.
I fear that to “conservatives” (shudder quotes because they’re no such thing) are pleased as can be to have something to swamt the news of Biden’s administrative successes.
The Media need to stop letting Trump and his cronies control the narrative. This wasn’t a raid, Mar-a-Lago was not under siege, and Trump’s safe was not “broken” into.
This is really basic law enforcement under constitutional law. A judge would not sign off without: 1. probable cause 2. a list of specific items to be searched for 3. specific places to be searched. And followed up by a tightly controlled chain of custody listing items seized and where they were found.

As I posted on FB, someone needs to remind trump what “under siege, raided, and occupied by a large group” actually looks like.

It’s fun to watch Republicans sweat and squirm over the possibility they, too, will soon meet an FBI flash-mob.

Mar-a-Lardo is ground zero for evidence. Law enforcement knows that.

No, he had fired them all.

Too bad the FBI kicked out his lawyers. That makes any evidence they find inadmissible in court.
