Wouldn’t you know… I live in one of the states with lots of lead service lines. Perhaps I should move to Montana.

Wait. Randy’s take on today’s FA is that the bird is standing in (lead-white) pigment. Because of the bird’s long legs, I thought it was a waterbird… standing in water. I didn’t know it was a pigmentbird.

…this is why they are called, ‘Led’ Zeppelin…

    …not Lead Zeppelin…

…we came home from a weekend vacation only to find copious amounts of water coming out of our front yard…

…it seems an old connection pipe from the water main…

    …to our house…

    …had broken and separated…

…the city finally turned off the main…

…but we had to replace the broken piping…

    …which on the city’s end…

    …was lead…

    …well…

    …that explains the capt. …

    …yep..

And then she said that the last time we met, I thought I was a time traveler. And then it all came back. I’d gotten the goods on Godreau. And then some goons showed up. Judging by my banking app, that was about two years ago. I hadn’t been back to my office since. I’m not sure what happened, but I’d spent the last two years not enjoying my per diem, and somebody was going to pay for that. Somebody might be watching, though. Our first order of business was going to be getting out of the open before the lead rain started. I didn’t bring an umbrella, and now I had the dame to look out for, too. I was sure she could handle herself well enough. She had me on the ropes without breaking a sweat or even so much as flicking a finger. But that bike messenger uniform sure didn’t look bullet proof. We needed to get out of sight.

Uh-Oh, another stilted comic. How lame is that? Not as lame as my comments. Come on, get the lead out. I need another cup of unleaded, please. Lead makes for the most brilliant ceramic glazes, and it’s not too bad for the plumage either, but it’ll get ‘cha in the end.

I’d really rather not wallow in molten lead, problematic black birdie! In fact, I suspect you are but a ruse, an acoustic lure, a mere silhouette prop for some Nefarious Actor seeking to lead innocent (and, yes a little gullible) Froglandians to an ignominious pair of lead overshoes, even better than cement, when the goal is termination as if a fishline sinker….
