First part: GOP blew their chance when they first rejected an independent commission and then included one of the Reps. that was party to the insurrection. That said, two Republicans are on the committee and almost all of the witnesses have been GOP members.

Second part: A free market economy gives people the right to shop where they want. As for “shutting down speakers”, other than random anecdotes, where’s the proof?

Third part: Favoring an expansion of the USSC does not mean abolishing it. The Constitution has no set number and there have been a range in numbers in our history. (That said, I’m not convinced an expansion is the best reform. I’d prefer a set term, then maybe a rehearing for another term, amount of years TBD.)

Concluding part: FAIL. Which political party tries to help the most people and which is beholden to a greedy, narcissistic, transactional, defeated former president? Which political party has received more popular votes in every election except one (2004) this century? 7 of the last 8?

This toon borders on the surreal. The republican seditionists refused to participate and all the witnesses have been republican. Speaking under oath.

Of course upholding your own oath to protect and defend the Constitution is how the republicans roll.

It’s just weird and a bit sick that they break their oath so freely. But the party of alternative facts and cult-like behavior has no compunction about doing so.

Deliberate ignorance shown by Mr Kelly. Not one committee member has called the Jan 6th hearings a trial. All members have explained the HEARINGs are to discover what really happened prior to, on the date of, and the aftermath of the Jan 6th attack on the Capitol and to RECOMMEND policies to avert anything like this happening in the future. Only the DOJ can decide if there is enough evidence to CHARGE anyone involved. Then there would be a TRIAL when the DEFENSE could CROSS EXAMINE – asking questions of – the prosecution’s witnesses.

How about understanding the difference between hearings and trials before writing a cartoon or responding to postings from other commenters.

I too look forward to the cross examinations. But by the defense counsel at the criminal trials for each and everyone behind the 1/6 attack. Jim Jordan, Mo Brooks, Matt Gaetz, Scott Perry, Marjorie Greene, Andy Biggs or Louie Gohmert can testify, if they don’t take the 5th.

To Havel: 1. The two “republicans” on the Trump Derangement Committee are RINOs! Both are Never-Trump slime-balls. Both are on their way out of office. Hutchinson is a typical disgruntled EX-employee, perfectly willing to read “testimony” prepared by bullSchiff and his staff.2. Oh come on! Big Tech routinely blocks any conservative opposing viewpoints by banning them! Conservative speakers such as Ben Shapiro are typically prevented from speaking on college campuses by leftist protesters.3. You want to expand the USSC to add more Justices who rule on feelings: pretending the US Constitution [written expressly to limit the Federal government to ENUMERATED powers] says what they feel it should say!4. Before Trump shut he Country down over COVID like the weasels Birx and Fauci wanted, ALL US citizens who wanted a job, COULD get a job. [Why did you ignore statistics like “Most Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, women employed EVER” to claim Democrats “care more”?]Republican policies such as lower taxes for everyone, let US businesses expand to meet demand. They hired more US workers who paid taxes. THIS increased the tax money to the US Treasury WHILE letting these new workers KEEP more of the wages they earned! Inflation was low! The US was energy independent, and drugs, gang members and other illegals coming in was reduced far below Obama’s totals. 5. As soon as your beloved leftists took over in 2021, they raised taxes, started the “We’ll destroy fossil fuels with a New Green Deal”[that Biden promised on the campaign trail,] stopped finishing the Wall, stopped enforcing immigration laws, and no surprise to ME, crashed the US economy! How did THIS help anyone? [Especially the 107,000 + who have died from Fentanyl?]The Electoral College lets “flyover” States have a say in the Federal Government. The USA is a Representative REPUBLIC, not a Democracy. A Democracy is: two wolves and a sheep voting on “who’s for dinner.”

Cross examinations happen in trials. The Jan 6 committee is conducting hearing, not trials. Trials, with any luck, will come later. As one judge has already noted, the illegality of what those scoundrels were up to “is obvious”.

The Jan 6th witnesses are being cross examined. It’s a bipartisan investigation.

Both parties have people who shout down speakers and disrupt events.

The third panel is pure “Straw Man” argument. No one is saying that we should get rid of the Supreme Court.

    The final panel is nonsense.

Kelley – the people on the committee should NOT include those that could be called to testify (and so far many have refused). Gym Jordan and Matt Gaerz were looking for pardons from Trump, why should they be on the committee? McCarthy refused to put forward serious candidates. For that matter, how many versions of 1/6 has McCarthy told?

SCOTUS shouldn’t be abolished but justices that lied during their confirmation hearings should be impeached.

I try to use my purchases and investments to support companies I agree with. I don’t do stupid things like buying shoes and coffee makers just to burn or smash them.

    https://www.thedailybeast.com/from-nike-to-keurig-conservatives-keep-blowing-up-things-they-bought-to-own-libs

The last panel is just plain silly. Caring about the environment, people’s rights, gun control, and supporting the vote for everyone is not “me, me, me”. People that support Trump the bully, want to block eligible voters that don’t agree with them, want to isolate the U.S. from our allies, want to limit the rights of women to make their own medical choices (they’re aiming at birth control next), continually whine about silliness like the “war on Christmas” because someone uses the inclusive “Happy Holidays” are the selfish, self-centered ones that represent “me, me, me”.

    Try again:

    1. The January 6 hearings are to gather information. They’re not being conducted like a trial with cross-examination because no one is on trial.

    2. Coming from a group that yells “boycott” at the drop of a hat, it’s pretty rich to claim that the Democrats are the ones trying to cancel businesses.

    3. The Supreme Court now includes five religious extremists, two of whom were appointed illegitimately, three appointed by a credibly accused rapist, and two credibly accused of assaulting women themselves. Their approval rating by the US public is at 25%, the lowest point since Gallup started doing polls. They’ve bowed to the will of the NRA in strengthening open carry laws, to the will of religious extremists by making a decision to remove rights that affect every woman and girl that is based solely on religious underpinning, and to the will of big business by weakening environmental protections. Moreover, no one is calling for SCOTUS to be abolished: they are calling to increase the number of justices (adjustments to its number have happened six times in the past) to balance the blatantly obvious conservative stranglehold of its current partisan composition.

    4. “I’m a progressive Democrat. My pronouns are us, us, and us.”
