Even I can relate as a grocery store employee constantly moving your feet. Cashiers, on the other hand, are stationary.

Work all day standing on your feet. Too bad they don’t let them hover at work, because they clearly like that better.

That happens to everyone at quitting time.

After being on my feet for 7 hours, I waddle to my car.

Always have that extra bit of “I’m outta here!” energy stored just for this reason.

If you don’t believe in life after death…… just wait until quitting time.

The only time I still felt dead tired on the way home is the time I put in over a 24 hour shift at the automotive paint manufacturer that I used to work at. We were so backed up with orders that management decided to start working 24/7 and the problem for the first day was there were not enough people to cover the first day (I believe the next day was Saturday). My boss knew that I was available to cover the first couple of shifts. So I covered the my original shift, afternoon shift and midnight shift the first day. The only saving grace was the midnight shift was kind of slow.

“Bagged”…. Hmmn… A bag and a sack are basically the same thing, right? Getting sacked means getting fired… Being bagged means you’re tired… Although I’ve never heard that expression before… Must be an older one.

Ah the simplicities of youth. Where you’re Michaels age one always has that renewed energy when the working day is over and time is now yours. Red Bull may give you wings but youth gives you ambition.

I’ve had feet so sore I almost couldn’t walk to the car and when I almost stayed there because pushing the pedals was so painful. Fortunately, the next day was Saturday, and I could watch cartoons most of the day and recover. …what the heck happened to the good cartoons of my youth!?

You’d think that the three of them would be heading in the same direction: for the time clock to punch out.

In May cannot remember when, before I had my fall on asphalt fractured my lower femur, we had lot of rain then and son hydro planned, I had to take him to work and then pick him up as hubby and I decided to help on expense one car, so we could not let our son drive ours. Picking him up close to 11 p.m. I watched customer’s almost last minute leaving with their goods, grocery store, he was the closer, other last minute customer’s trying to come in and he tell them closed, he was 15 to 20 minutes after closing time by then worker’s got to leave, and worker’s never did what today’s strip revive and scoot out running, he be tired on his feet. At this grocery store this happens a lot. Oh my son did find a different auto and he drives himself. He does carts, checking, self check out, places unwanted items back, and helps customers.Update for my lower femur fracture, I messed up, the two bones separated found out July, according to Orthopedic the bone that fracture was healing, I messed up badly, now I am doing what is needed and made several changes. Dr. does not like crutches not safe, he wanted me use a walker to hop one leg, my thought my age oh wow! I been doing that, then made more changes cutting back on hoping with a walker not using crutches as I as was making me sick, I have a commode by the bed so that helps a life saver. I go back in August so I have 3 more week’s, please keep good thoughts as next my hip will be wrapped.

They get to leave the minute the store closes to the public? That seems unlikely.

a bit of research says that “bagged” is a Canadian expression, for those unfamiliar. Meaning tired. I’m guessing it’s used also because it’s a pun, since working at a grocery store involves bagging things.
