What I’m very seriously wondering about monkey pox is, where is it coming from and how is it being transmitted?

The authorities are saying that it’s very difficult for a human to catch monkey pox from another human. Then how has it suddenly appeared at the same time in numerous places that apparently have no connection either to the usual source(s) or to each other?

Nobody seems to be even asking (publicly) how it got there (many "there"s). How can they be sure the “risk” is “low” if they have no idea how those individuals were infected? Or if they do know how it happened, why won’t they tell us?

The first human case was identified in a child in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 1970. Monkeypox virus is transmitted from one person to another by close contact with lesions, body fluids, respiratory droplets and contaminated materials such as bedding.
