On the one hand, it’s risky for Sweden and Finland to join NATO. Especially for Finland, who has been threatened by Russia if they choose to join.

On the other hand, Russia is in no position right now to do anything to Sweden or Finland, militarily or politically. So maybe it is a good time to join.

Who is advising this guy? Some latter-day Rasputin? So, is he a modern-day Alexander The Great — or a Czarina Alexandra?

Putin is living in a past era. He needs to get with what is real now. This is what happens when you try to stop progress because you cling to the past.

Russia threatens that military forces on the Swedish and/or Finnish borders will be increased if either nation joins NATO. How is it going to pay for that with its economy on the edge of collapse?
