It’s true that American students are failing in their curriculum ……

Decade after decade, NO ONE FIXES THE PROBLEMS!

The worst part is they keep “ SIMPLIFYING” the curriculum and what’s happening is the generations coming up can’t even read, comprehend, do math and have no common sense about everyday living!

If anyone scanned the programs on TV and cable, etc, take a look at what the kids are watching….simple, violent, rude, loud, disrespect, violence!

    I want to puke!

I have inside info on what kindergarten teachers focus on: READING COMPREHENSION. It is the key to learning, and schools are working diligently to see that children gain that skill.

Ever since those LOCAL school Boards have been asserting themselves they turnout silly people like Michael Ramirez. “In the first place, God created idiots. That was for practice. Then he made school boards.” – Mark Twain.

Teachers aren’t focusing on sexuality. Each teacher focuses on the subject they are teaching. Elementary teachers focus on teaching the basic subjects of math, reading, writing and science. There are sex ed classes (sometimes incorporated in health classes) for older students and that’s when they learn how their bodies function. Why some people are so hysterical about that, I don’t know. By the way, having taught English to high school students for many years, while their harmones are raging, they were thinking about sex even though I wasn’t teaching anything about it They could use some guidance from their parents, although many parents avoid the subject.

Well yes.. kids can pick up those math/science skills later… or not. But sexual preference needs to be established right away. /s

Why do the so called right wingers keep making up non existent issues to scare people with? So people won’t notice the corruption and cronyism going on.

Just like the conservatives who make laws against women have absolutely no idea what happens during pregnancy & birth + afterwards, they know nothing about what is going on in schools or what teachers do. I opine these types of folks have no idea the amount of education teachers have or the love they have for the children. Just want to bitch and control. I feel sorry for their children.

Conservative parents only want their children taught by biblically-trained Sunday School teachers to maintain the intellectually retarded level of training they have spent instilling into their children’s lives.

I double dog dare you to work a week in a kindergarten classroom. They have the hardest job in schools (and this is coming from a middle school math teacher).

They do not teach “sexuality” in kindergarten. What they do is deal with reality. There are kids with 2 mommies or 2 daddies. There are kids who do not want to dress like little boys or little girls. It’s real and it’s always been that way. We’re just finally accepting the fact that this binary gender thing is not working.

I know, those sex ed classes in kindergarten were crazy. Oh, wait, there were no sex ed classes in kindergarten and there still aren’t sex ed classes in kindergarten.

About all that is being taught is not to bully kids that might not dress the way you think they should, and that some parents may be the same sex.

Doesn’t seem ironic that the very people who want to limit government and expand freedom and liberty are trying to stop what teachers may say in a classroom, what kids may read in a library, and who may swim or run in athletic events? I guess it depends upon who’s ox is being gored.

Children can learn many things at all ages, if it is taught in realistic manner, taking into account how their minds operate. Most people underestimate the abilities of children.

Republicans prefer that children not learn history or civics. They don’t want their children to know more than them.

Hey, all you dumb posters…we’re talking about kindergarten through 3rd grade here. Totally not appropriate, unless you’re Bill Clinton, Jeffrey Epstein, Al Franken, Anthony Weiner, Eliot Spitzer, John Edwards, Gary Condit, Mel Reynolds, Barney Frank, Gary Hart, you know, a democrat.

Mr Ramirez doesn’t live in a parallel universe. He lives in a squiggly universe, where if you say it three times, it’s true. And then it comes out the way it went in.
