One time I got three jobs, three employers, three paychecks, two jobs, and went without working three times as much.

Right. As if there are several companies that run a space station and that can last with a lazy chief engineer.

He sounds like Wally from Dilbert.

Cliff loves to work at nothing all day. He’ll be taking care of business, and working overtime.

Ya gotta give it to him. He has (no) ambition.

Twice the laziness. But as bill gates said lazy ppl figure how to get things done faster and easier

Looks like he broke his wrist in panel two. Worker’s compensation! Statutory sick pay! Lawsuit!

Oh wait, forms to fill out? Never mind then.

What disturbs me is that there is a certain (albeit convoluted) logic to that…

Nothing new about this; this was the plot of an episode of The Flintstones…but back then, it was called “moonlighting”

“Multi-shirking” is easy. The trick is getting two employers to pay for it.

Can he handle the load???

Working in the Bronx at two “no show” jobs.

I knew a guy once who “Subcontracted” his job. He actually hired two other people to do the actual work and still managed to keep a nice chunk of the Paycheck for himself. The advantage of sending the work to India. It was funny because his Boss never even Suspected.

The last I knew, he was checking around for a Second job that he could do himself while the two guys in India kept working at his First job.

Cliff is to this strip what Wally is to “Dilbert”. They’re soul brothers.

Must be union shops.

To paraphrase an old joke:

Pam: Cliff, what are you doing?

Cliff: Nothing

Pam: That’s what you did yesterday.

Cliff: I know, but I didn’t finish!

As someone else pointed out, the lazy find the easier way, and many times it becomes the better way. Those who are paid by the hour have no incentive to rush a job, whereas those paid by the job do.
