The thing about fighting a cat or bathing a cat or getting a cat to take it’s medicine or trying to get a cat into it’s carrier is…you got to figure if it’s worth it. Sometimes it’s just not.
My advice would be to walk away, cat, while you still have your four legs in their rightful places and in their proper shape. I.Q. doesn’t think he can take you, Bucky. He knows he can take you.
I had a Siamese, who never got into a fight because he was an absolute master of stage one of Cat-fu: Talking Trash. He would see another cat a block away and start up, “I’m going to mess you up so badly your grandfather will feel it. They won’t find enough of you to take to the shelter. The last cat that crossed me got his own eyes crossed…”
It worked. The other cat would cross the street and pass opposite in that slow motion wariness, like they do. There’s no point fighting a crazy cat.
In this case, however, Bucky’s “trash” is being taken to the cleaners by that tiny dog.
Jack Russells are jerks. It’s the nature of the dog. They can learn to be sweet little house pets, just don’t assume they will like anyone else. That said, I have a Jack granddog and we love our cuddle time!

It’s not the size of the dog in the fight……….

Bucky needs time to process the concept of “jerk”—as applied to himself!

I need to memorize I.Q.‘s lines in panel two. It will come in very useful more often than I’d like to admit.

When Bucky understands what he’s been told, he may be upset. Colloquially anyway.

I Q Muttly is awesome. I hope he becomes a regular. Fun to see Bucky put in his place by a witty foil.

Wouldn’t Bucky look great wearing a “cone of shame”?

So he was on the phone making reservations to take Bucky out.

Not that Bucky is a master of diplomacy. But this new mutt has been the aggressor from the start. Take him out, Buck!

Out of context, Bucky in the third panel looks like he’s wearing glasses.
