When we were hiding eggs for the kids, I found it best to actually keep a list of where I put them. Because we would put out two dozen and after they found “all” of them, there would be 20 in the boxes. I would then find one or two more… and then a couple or three weeks later, our noses would lead us to the rest. Blch.
As a toddler I thought it might be funny if I got up early to move my basket before the hunt and then went back to bed. Sadly, the new location was over the hot air register so all the chocolate melted into the colored plastic bunny grass.
My parents always did small Easter baskets, and the tradition was to hunt for them out in the yard, bushes, trees, even the tarp covering the firewood, you just never know where the “Bunny” hid them… But one year, my father forgot and let the dog out before we got to go out,….. nuff said.
Ooops! For me when I was a kid we never had that Easter egg hunts and I do not remember going to church for Easter. When I had our kids I did take my two for egg hunt at the park.

Candy keeps well, but you don’t want to miss a hard boiled egg during the hunt and find it months later.

In our house if we didn’t get them first the cats would find them and bat them around on the floors.
