Gary did you draw that ‘toon under Cheney’s regime? Under Reagan’s? Under the defeated former guy? All presidents try that. You only care when its not your tribe.

I’ve seen some weird toons over the years. But, Gary? You’ve managed to top, or bottomed, all of those.

When faced with an opposition party which refuses to do their jobs no matter what, working for the good of our nation is NOT a power grab.

The monopolies/oligopolies [cable, parcel delivery, goods, e.g. Walmart, Amazon, etc] — through economies of scale — have purchasing power [and profit] that the mom and pop businesses cannot attain while delivering lower costs to consumers. So too federal projects can have more purchasing power/resources than individual states and can deliver goods/services more efficiently. The monopolies/oligopolies do not suffer from impulsive, divisive, emotional, partisanship but are cohesive organizations working together toward common goals while eliminating obstructionists before they can halt productivity.

Consider some of the most urgent priorities of woke ideology:

*Reinstituting racial segregation and replacing individual rights with group rights.*Abandoning poor and minority neighborhoods to lawlessness by defunding the police and decriminalizing many offenses.*Eliminating opportunities for women in sports by forcing them to compete against men.*Impoverishing working-class American citizens by enriching a global oligarchy while flooding the labor market with illegal aliens.*Eliminating due process and the rule of law by resurrecting pre-trial detention, extra-legal punishment, and the presumption of guilt for “political enemies.”

Well, I’ll give it to Gary for coming up with an original concept. Gollum as Biden is new in the Repub pantheon of lies. President Biden is much more like Frodo, a good natured fella who finds himself fighting an evil force of Repub making. And though he, like Frodo, is occasionally seduced by the power of the polls, or the ring, he nevertheless strives onward to the high calling of freedom and prosperity throughout the land. Will our hero succeed? He has three more years to get it done.

Varvel, where did this come from? How Voting Rights can be construed as a power grab is beyond comprehension.

Republican state legislatures are putting in laws that will allow them to overturn election results from the voters. But preventing them from doing that, minimizing their gerrymandering (look at WI) and enabling people to vote by mail are a “power grab”,

So, the January 6, 2020 insurrection wasn’t a power grab?

I would say 40 years of McConnell is the ultimate power, also Varvel lies like Trump. What will happen when the RWNJs turn America into a dictatorship? Will everyone who keeps voting for these criminals be happy?
