He is symbolic of what has happened to Wisconsin over the past decade. The University of Wisconsin was once regarded as one of the top science and liberal arts colleges in the nation. The state has dumbed down.
Actually, he may not be wrong. The Omicron variant apparently does not penetrate to the lungs as well as earlier variants. It does get into the throat, etc. Because it is in the upper tract, it spreads more easily. Because it does not get into the lungs so easily, it seems to make people less ill. Gargling with something effect could reduce the amount of Covid there.
You could gargle with 151 proof rum, which is 75% alcohol, about the same strength as a good hand sanitizer (which you should NOT gargle with). Just think if you started all your in person meetings with a good gargle of rum or vodka! 8^) And no, I don’t think beer will cut it…
Some things to consider before relying on mouthwash as a way to prevent COVID include:
THE NEW CORONAVIRUS COLLECTED IN NASAL PASSAGES, NOT JUST IN THE THROAT. This means that even if “throat washing” were effective, pieces of the virus could still remain in the nose and pass back down to the throat. There are no large-scale clinical studies in support of mouthwash to prevent or kill the virus.Promotion of mouthwashes as a COVID prevention or treatment tool could take away from other, more effective methods to control the virus. – https://www.healthline.com/health/infection/does-mouthwash-kill-covid#expert-input

Tucker Carlson says people ‘should be proud’ of getting CovidFox News host Tucker Carlson said people “should be proud” of getting Covid in a bizzare anti-vax speech.
In an 30-minute address before a crowd of young conservatives gathered in Phoenix, Arizona, Mr Carlson said he was “totally intolerant of the vax stuff” and called the vaccination situation a “class war”.
The comments were delivered live at an event organised by Turning Point USA which is a group of young conservatives founded by Charlie Kirk, that calls itself a “student movement for freedom, free markets and limited government".
It’s tough when you give people sound medical advice and in exchange they treat you like a pariah, but don’t cry too hard for Donald Trump.
When the former president told a Dallas audience that he received a Covid-19 vaccine booster, anti-vaxxers in the crowd booed. Trump was in Texas for the final stop in a four-city “History Tour” with Bill O’Reilly when the conservative former Fox News host said, “Both the president and I are vaxxed,” then turned to Trump and asked, “Did you get the booster?”
“Yes,” Trump replied.
“I did, too,” O’Reilly said. But as they spoke, members of the audience began to boo. O’Reilly shared the clips of him discussing the vaccine with Trump on his Twitter account Monday morning.
Trump Administration Deliberately Tanked Covid Response for Political Purposes: Report
“Persistent political interference in the pandemic response contributed to one of the worst failures of leadership in American history,” the House report read
The House Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis on Friday released a 46-page report confirming what was readily apparent to most reasonable, informed Americans: The Trump administration made “deliberate efforts” to undermine America’s response to Covid-19 for political purposes.
“Researchers at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine have found evidence that two types of mouthwash disrupt the COVID-19 virus under laboratory conditions, preventing it from replicating in a human cell.”
“Previous research has shown various types of antiseptic mouthwashes can disrupt the novel coronavirus and temporarily prevent transmission, but this was one of the first studies that examined antiseptic rinse concentrations, time of contact and the skin-cell killing properties that simulated oral conditions. The study was conducted by a team of dental school scientists and virologists at the Public Health Research Institute.”
During a virtual town hall, Johnson noted the recent surge in COVID-19 cases, then suggested measures — such as taking vitamin D, zinc and vitamin C — to stay safe.
“By the way, standard gargle mouthwash, has been proven to kill the coronavirus,” Johnson added, per the report. “If you get it, you may reduce viral replication. Why not try all these things?”
He went on to say that it was boggling how the National Institute of Health tells people to “do nothing. Maybe take Tylenol.”
We have a preliminary study that shows at least 2 consumer mouthwash products “disrupt” the ability of the virus to reproduce in human tissue. We already know from previous research that mouthwash DOES temporarily PREVENT transmission.
If Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer had said the same thing Johnson did you people would all nod and marvel at their wisdom and immediately run to the store for Listerine.
Because a Republican said it, Danziger and other zealots take his words out of context, alter his words and then claims Johnson is insane.
Yup, that’s our Ron. This is one of the rocket scientists who claimed the January 6th insurrection was a “peaceful protest.” Mind you, he didn’t seem to mind being protected during the insurrection or demand to meet with “his people” while it was going on. I can only hope my fellow Wisconsinites will turn him out of office next year.

Just try a quick Lysol injection
If you get no relief from your bleach sprays
Try an enormous dose of UV rays
If Covid continues to harry ya
Try a drug that is meant for malaria
Clorox your Covid
And you’ll drop like the Dow!
