It’s funny that MSG Corp., is named for the arena instead of the other way around.

We’ve got only one Staples store and it’s quite a bit of driving distance from where I live…

I got p*ssed as heck when the new stadium was named for an investment firm, instead of keeping Mile High stadium. Not everything should be for sale, and venue names should have a connection with the geography or local history.

There was only 1 Boston Garden and it’s NOT the one they tore down and replaced with an air-conditioned building.

During the Celtics basketball playoffs, sometimes fog from the ice rink would hover over the court.

AND …, who would ever sell naming rights to Fenway Park?

Without “Staples” it’s just the center. Did the locals have a nickname for it, like the clip or something?

What I hate is the corporate names attached to the names of bowl games,

Also,Chicago beats NY Knicks 119-115.One Chicago player goes 2-10 at 3-point shots.

When do you grab a teammate by the neck and scream—enough with the lousy 3-point shots, you’re killing us!?!?!?

To my wife it will always be, Mile High Stadium, without any sponsors name … at least until the sponsor pays her to say their name.

You mean the Staples Center wasn’t named after the Staples Singers? Mavis will be so disappointed.

Seriously, I stopped honoring naming rights about 15 years when I was a radio sportscaster and have continued it as a baseball blogger. Just because some corporation pays a team or city to slap their name on a sports facility, we aren’t obliged to use that name ourselves. I would say “at home” or “in (insert city name here)” instead. Want me to mention an insurance company or a bank? Show me the money.

Public money builds the teams stadium/arena and then the team sales the name rights for millions and pockets the $$$$$$$$, tell me again how my tax $$$ are being used for the public good.
