My hope was I would win a lottery and retire. I never won one but I did retire.

I’m retired so you’d think I’d be living my dream. But I have a Honey-Do list.

I believe the real American Dream is to be wealthy enough not to have to work.

    Right??

One thing about retirement; the hours are great but the pay sucks.

I can still remember that first morning of retirement – no alarm clock waking me up, turning over for an extra five minutes, cup of tea in pyjamas. Well, you get the drift.

This reminds me of some of the comments when my wife died in March, Heaven “needed” a pet groomer. How would that be Heaven, to have to “keep” working for all of eternity after doing it while alive.

Retirement has allowed me to live some of my dreams. I have been a teacher, a motorcycle rider(did this before I retired), and sailed the oceans. My dream of winning the lottery, so far, hasn’t worked out!

I was at a seminar and the speaker asked members of the audience if you have one job, what would you do. People gave some pat answers—retired, movie star, lottery winner, etc…..when he got to me I stopped him cold—I said I would like to be a philanthropist—in 10 years he had never had anyone say that. So he asked why—-First you have to have access to a lot of money and they have the satisfaction of helping others. We have only taken this up with our kids and grand-kids but it is still very satisfying!
