Abbott is still receiving payments from the 1986 lawsuit when he was jogging in River Oaks(Houston) when an oak tree cracked a fell on him(a report that his Walkman was on too loud to hear it) he sued the landowner and the landscape company, $6 million to start. There is no compassion but for himself.
I always get a laff out of Conservative and religious hypocrisy concerning abortion. They consider it murder to commit abortion, but it is perfectly OK to have the abortionees murdered and murder as very young adults in wars in general and more precisely wars in the interests of corporations and the wealthy. The USofA hasn’t fought a war since WWII that has been anything but greed in action.
Now with open carry legal in Texas, the militia groups can gun down anyone suspected of being raped.
I knew a girl (I was her school bus driver) raped by a relative from her 9th birthday until she was 15.At the same time this was reported, a dog was found with barbed wire wrapped around it’s muzzle.Wanna guess which one raised $30,000 ?And which one got ZERO therapy? On top of that, the local newspaper described in great detail what was done to the girl. It read like a porno story.
This is another example of the pandemic of Insanity that has taken over Humanity.
The Evangelicals are so terrified that the Muslim Immigrants will try and implement Shria Law here, but can’t accept that they are pushing their own version of it. I wouldn’t be surprised if it eventually leads to the call for stoning those that perform abortions.
IIRC Texas was not really part of Gilead (at least from what I could glean from the Hulu show). But that’s a difference that makes no difference in this case.
Texas is becoming more of a blue state and Texas Republicans, apparently either crazed by power or the heat, are just shooting themselves in the foot with laws like this.
The Texas war on women started a long time ago. I moved there ages ago because of a job offer, and you could see this sort of thing happening even then. It is a miserable place for women. Before I started my new job, the owner of the company made it clear to me that I was expected to, shall we say, provide other services, and when I declined, he fired me before I started work.
It went on from there. I finally decided I had to get out of that hell hole and packed up and moved to Chicago, jobless, and had to start all over again. I never regretted it for a moment. I was so glad to be out of Texas.

Republicans are concerned about the baby until it’s born. Then nada, zilch, nothing to help nurture or support it.

This is instead of providing free, or, at least, inexpensive, prenatal care or post natal care. Do they also offer the “sperm donor” free Viagra.
