So just like the original 52 Gang commandeered Diet Smith’s space traveling vehicle, the New 52 Gang will be going after his time traveling vehicle. . . .

Is that “Goggles Guy” in panel one with his back to us? He was a blonde and his head was the same shape. I don’t think Joe would’ve drawn him so many times in the time drone lab if he wasn’t important. But he also drew a woman with a ponytail in there too. I wonder…

So, does this mean there is a new Ace of Spades now?

Also, I thought that the Ace of Spades and the other “52 Gang” people had taken over the Apparatus, but the guy at the computer in the first frame seems to be the boss of the Ace of Spades, so maybe it’s a bit more complicated than I thought.

I have a feeling the time travel show is just a passing fancy ….. for now, and it could be long months before it comes back into play.

I kinda wish the drone had opened up a time warp passageway, and Flattop came to the present in it….

If he’s a fake, why leave the mask on? Then the boss wouldn’t have to ask how they knew he was a fake (and we’d know who the person was… Seems safe to assume Lee Ebony is not going undercover again).

Way back in the 1950s, when I was a kid of 7 or 8, there was an artist at one of the department stores who did on-the-spot, “shadow portraits”. You would sit perfectly still (not easy for a small child) and she would take scissors and cut a freehand shape of your profile, including your eyelashes, out of black construction paper. Just like the woman’s profile in panel one today!

Isn’t Ace of Spades part of the Roya Flush Gang (a DC construct)?

Are these members of Generation-X or Millennials who got a hold of the Ace of Spades. Apparently Ace is still on top of his game…he got the drop on one of them.

I wonder which one of these characters…the gentleman with the cigar or the young group who would pull the hood off of the Ace of Spades. On second thought, scratch that…the dialogue probably would not be suitable for this format.

It’s been hinted several times that the current head of The Apparatus is “LITTLE NOTTING”,the sole survivor of the 1962 “52 Gang” story.

But the fellow in this strip doesn’t remotely resemble him,even in shadow.

With Bribery in the clink(their chief rival),they should be making their move.But they’ve beenoddly stagnant.

Abruptly, we’ve got some villains! But it’s not yet clear what villainy they might be up to. The guy who seems to have been running Apparatus HQ is quite a gorilla, but doesn’t look like the brainy type. Maybe the “new” Ace of Spades will fill that part (if he’s not an undercover cop; see in panel 3 his evident square jaw, like Tracy’s); note, too, the mayhem he wrought in panel 2!
