Hey, Little Bobby, did you hear that Mo Brooks was warned two days before the insurrection that there might be violence? He said that instead of going to his condo, he slept on his office floor, and he wore body armor under his windbreaker at the rally when he talked about “taking names and kicking ass”. Of course he never told anyone else about the warning and won’t tell who warned him.

But right wing agitators infiltrating BLM protests to cause trouble 9s what you want to draw, without telling the truth about them.

I believe that it’s fair to say that riots are awful. The only justification, maybe, is to bring attention to an awful situation. Of course, better if you simply get the media attention without the riots, and there were a lot of BLM marches that managed to be less than a riot. Not to mention the more or less ongoing Portland OR not-quite-riots that were in no way about the BLM marches that preceded them.

On the other hand, there’s the indisputable riot on January 6th that was deadly, treasonous and without any mitigating value.

To say that the BLM protests were riots is a lie. To say that they were “against their country” or that they “attack her institutions” is a lie. In fact, this entire strip is nothing but a lie designed to obscure the truth. The truth is, the January 6 insurrection was a seditious attempt — or more likely a dry run — to take over the government. Did they think they would succeed? Possibly. They had a president who encouraged them — urged them — to stop the democratic process. They had a president in office who refused to send help to the overwhelmed capitol police. Their goal was and is to destroy democracy and install an authoritarian regime. All Black Lives Matter wanted was to get cops to stop killing unarmed black folks.

Gorrell is the definition of sedition.

Deflection is a very weak stance. Weak indeed.

I was touring Washington DC earlier this summer, and the blood behind the White House was covered with a big Black Lives Matter logo painted on the street by the mayor of Washington DC. I don’t remember seeing even a small sign celebrating the GOP.

I’m sorry. I didn’t read this strip as Gorrell’s opinion but an observation of a republican. I read it as sarcasm.

Let’s see, there have been summer racial violence riots (during the past 60 years) since at least Watts in 1965, Detroit and Newark a year or two later, in numerous cities when MLK Jr. was murdered, the Rodney King riots in L.A. in 1992, and a political riot at the U.S. Capitol. . . just once, on Jan. 6, 2021. Mr. Gorrell, your ignorance is appalling.

After 400 years of regular race riots in this country we should get to the bottom of it. My question is why Black people are not more enraged than they seem to be about the way they have been, and continue to be, treated.
