Vera has never been so happy at the mention of Dick Tracy, but it won’t do him any good in that safe room.

I hope someone knows who that butler is in the last frame. He looks very familiar to me like I’ve seen him somewhere before, but I can’t place him. “Mr. Archival is expecting us” certainly does sound like the interview was arranged in advance.

How sad, pukeface lost the gold on his wooden soldier hat!

What am I bet Tracy will catch sight of and recognise the anti-moon ring?

Why did they tease us with Flattop yesterday?

Today, the kryptonite ring is green, not red. So now, it works against Superman, too?

Let’s see if Alldid has the courage to go after that “guard”….

I still say yesterday’s strip wasn’t a preview of an upcoming story. I still say it’s part of Archival’s collection and will be revealed as such.

Why did Archival wait till the last minute to put his “guests” in the “safe room”? He knew Tracy & Sam were coming.

Archival has a butler, eh? Is he armed?

Brock’s wearing his ring on his middle finger. Will Tracy or Sam see it?

Will Tracy recognize the ring? I assume he had a good look at it after they took it from Bribery.

And now back to crushing hopelessness.

Brock is so on task that the ring being in plain sight is forgotten in the hubris of execution of Great planning.

Archival is still wearing Mr. Bribery’s ring. I wonder if Dick Tracy will notice…. I guess that “guard” has a sidearm otherwise I’d expect Vera and Mysta to make some noise and attempt to alert Dick Tracy (But that (my thinking) is too logical).

Sunday’s strip should be interesting!

Right now Vera is Dick Tracy’s number one fan.

I hope Dick is opening his eyes enough to see Bribery’s ring.

Is the magic ring like kryptonite, and weakens her? If so, what is its range?

Or does it bestow a cone of safety on the wearer? If that’s the case why can’t she just blast the guards not wearing the ring?

Or is it, conveniently, both?

Even employees at fast food joints have communication headsets. Archival uses walkie-talkies, so his captives stay well informed.

SQUAREJAW: “Good Morning, we suspect that Mr Archival may have something to do with the disappearance of Vera Alldid and Frankenmindy so I decided to make an appointment to meet with him, thereby giving him plenty of time to hide them if he is holding them against their will…may we come in?”

BRUSHLIP: “It’s alright Mortimer, they’ve been secretly stashed away where Tracy will NEVEREVEREVEREVER find them, let him in…oh, and please excuse the mess, you see…since you called to schedule an appointment I’ve been rushing to get as much as I can shuttled to my private island where you wont ever find them…erm, I mean where I’m going for a little r&r… yeah that’s it…a little r&r, oh..also, pay no mind to those muffled screams for help coming from behind the walls…damned ghosts. So, what can I do for you?”

The butler reminds me of an actor who appeared on several dramatic television programs in the 1960’s.

Mysta and Vera will be out of sight. It is going to be interesting to hear Archival explain video footage of his driver at Diet Smith Industries picking them up.

Vera and Mysta could either " fake out " the guard with Mysta appearing to become even weaker or both do a " bum’s rush " on the guard and shove him into the room…

As for what is in the guard’s hand… It looks to be a control for an electronic lock on the door and not a weapon…

But in Tracyville, I could be wrong… ;-) ;-D

The butler reminds me of Arthur Treacher.

Pathetic Vile is like a little kid, expecting rescue by Tracy (panel 2), only to undergo abrupt reversal of expression in panel 3 when ordered into the Safe Room. What this sequence will amount to now depends on just how observant Dick and Sam will be during the course of the interview with Mr. Archival….

A quick end to the story, or a return to laborious detection ?
