There used to be a thing called reasoning and it also went by the names logic and common sense, but did they really exist? It’s been so long it seems like it was all a dream now. Its scarcity has put it on the endangered list. We are now entrenched in the age of stupid and it is rampant!

Humans do get “warning notifications” that should have stopped Dave (or changed the direction of his actions) long before getting to this point. Something is (or has gone) wrong in Dave’s mind.

[Then again, maybe Dave knows something we don’t. (Since this is a cartoon/comic, the tree could fall away and Dave could be just fine.)]
