Just one of the foolish things some “churches” do to prove their “faith”.

Reptile dysfunction.

This is not what I had in mind when I went looking for a snake club.

The snake-handling practice is based in a “forged” ending to The Gospel According to Mark. Those final verses (Mark 16:9-19) do not appear in the oldest manscripts and are clearly late additions. The passage is weirdly different from the rest of Mark.

Most modern editions of the Bible leave out those verses. Others relegate them to a footnote with comments indicating that “some” old manuscripts include these verses.

Beyond the assertion that “believers” can handle deadly serpents without danger, other signs are listed, among them that believers will be unharmed if they drink deadly poisons. And yes, in addition to the many recorded snake bite deaths among literalist worshippers, there have been many fatalities from the consumption of strychnine and other deadly poisons during services.

He’s suffering from serpent envy

Reality bites.

Surely men don’t make such comparisons, do they?

The same faith that sent those wowsers to their deaths from a liberal hoax?

Don’t complain about the church’s loaner snake when you should have brought your own.

Ha! Grandpa’s snake is limp.

I’d think he’d be more concerned that the women had bigger snakes than his.

“Take me in, oh tender woman!

Take me in, for Heaven’s sake!

Take me in, oh tender woman, cried the snake."

But, notice the women like longer snakes!

In life it is important to make sure you cut the grass low so the snakes show. Size doesn’t matter, at least in snakes.

Kinda Freudian, methinks.

Usually venom wise the smaller they are the more potent is the venom. Nature’s math.
