When the stalagtites merge with the stalagmites, you’ll have fashionable pillars in your abode.
And in another 30,000 years, someone will be charging admission to visit your cave and all the formations that are in it!
This is not a problem. It doesn’t need to be fixed.
As for the Stalactites (“holding tight” to the ceiling) and the Stalagmites (on the ground), “Let them grow.”

I guess sometimes you have to fix the roof and sometimes you have to fix the ceiling. Oddly enough, the same guy doesn’t do both. …in my experience.

Caves with water are alive and growing. Living in a living cave provided cave persons with the first mineral water.
