@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny , the blonde lass with the floating pony-tail knows our HERO Mr Andrew Capp’s type very well , her comeback is worthy of the master ,but Andy has friends , us :o) my avatar again is my fav tune ,a spoof of Otis Redding’s “Sitting on the dock of the bay” because a lot is happening around me , that I’m just watching it go by :o) how was your day ,and are you taking some time off from commenting? are you miffed at me because I think bev is? our day should be a bit busy but calm I hope , no errands to run , and we are both in a good mood , keep safe young Lady
Andy, You’ve got a friend in me Andy, You’ve got a friend in me When the road looks rough ahead and you’re miles and miles from your nice warm bed “couch” You just remember what your old pal said Boy, you’ve got a friend in me Yeah, you’ve got a friend in me
It’s sad enough that the “original” Andy Capp language is no longer used, but sadder to see Andy even talk about Manchester United rather than Newcastle United. The old Andy would’ve given the “friend” a fat lip just for the mere insinuation! I may be wrong, though…
As popular as youth soccer is I’m a bit surprised that soccer hasn’t caught on more in the US.
We vacationed in Mexico during the World Cup several years ago. A lot of Europeans, & you would have thought you were in Green Bay during the Super Bowl.
I’m not miffed. Don’t worry. Why do you think Bev is?
I swear I’m starting to get amnesia. I really thought today was the 21st which is when I go to the hairdressers but it came up on Facebook that a former colleague’s birthday is today. The 21st also happens to be one of my cousin’s birthdays. So I thought "Oh, she (colleague) must have the same birthday as my cousin.
Just imagine my shock when I saw on my phone that today was the 20th! I’m so glad I realised before leaving the house. So instead, as the weather was nice, I thought I’d head to my favourite beach.
I blame all this COVID stuff. Our routines have really been disrupted and we don’t know if we are coming or going.
Tomorrow is definitely the day I’m at the hairdressers and I can’t bloody wait!

In the first panel, Andy appears to be talking while drinking his beer at the same time. A great barroom trick although potentially messy.

At the risk of sounding cliched, with friends like Andy, who needs enemies?
