Jef is cryptic as usual: “A World sweeter” suggests Fannie May chocolates. “An investment” brings Fannie Mae to mind (Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA), commonly known as Fannie Mae). So—I’m new to this and not quite sure—amphibracic trImeter, yes? And catalectic in lines 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9? So Caulfield leaves things just a tish incomplete . .

Very good segue. If the rhyming is most important, he got it, orally, that is. And that’s what most people will hear. The rhyme scheme, while slightly bent is still good, but misspelled, so he loses. He can work out the rhythmic bumps in performance.

As long as Caufield does not pinch Mae’s fanny, he remains on semi-stabile ground.

And that’s why, Fannie, it’s called May.

When I was a kid, Fannie May was a chain of candy stores featuring treats like almond bark. Called Fannie Farmer in Minnesota.
