    RepubliQan math:

Pass a 1.9 trillion dollar bill that goes entirely for corporate welfare and massive tax giveaways to the few richest elites at the top. Promise it will pay for itself, and when it doesn’t — when it merely REDISTRIBUTES 1.9 trillion dollars from working people to those at the top and increases the deficit by that amount, blame it on Social Security and Medicare and try to cut those.

Decide that now is the time to OVER REGULATE private business who make a BUSINESS DECISION, not externally imposed, to discontinue printing a very small fraction of the titles THEY OWN THE RIGHTS TO, or because you don’t think a toy company — a private business — should have the right to make a decision that goes against your obsession with the genitalia of a PLASTIC POTATO.

Abandon all your long-asserted views that private businesses should be able to make their own private business decisions if you need a distraction from the fact that Democrats just passed a bill supported by 75% of all Americans, including almost 60% of Republicans. And why not? They’ve already abandoned every other principle they ever stood for.

    .

    Democratic math:

Pass a 1.9 trillion dollar bill that goes entirely to middle class working people and those who really need it the most.

Include direct payments to individuals that will ALL get pumped back into the economy; include payments for children.

Include tax breaks and expanded health care access for low-income family; include aid for SMALL businesses (not ginormous corporations) with real accountability, unlike RepubliQan versions.

Include aid to schools so they can reopen SAFELY, instead of demanding they open in ways that put teachers, children and families at risk; include aid to fund expanded distribution of vaccines; include aid to cities and states for COVID recovery so we can actually open up safely.

I’ve been luxuriating in having an admin in place that’s actually working to help. And it’s amusing to watch the GQP getting all upset about (what used to be) their natural allies exercising corporate choice, from Twitter to Seuss.

I hope the entire GQP gets burned in the next elections for unanimously failing to lift a finger to help the American people.

But, but, they are trying to save the taxpayers money. /snark. They sure did not care when it came to a tax cut for the upper levels. And so much money wasted on golf trips. And of course THE BIG LIE. That cost time and money and saddest of all, lives.

Time to compare right and wrong. Good and bad. Useful and useless. Good cause, stupid cause. And the beat goes on…and ON!

If it were the other way around, you can bet they would all be bending over waiting for us to kiss their feet. Can we all say… ’I pass!?"

Don’t know where people on this tilted country have been. I started questioning the validity of the R party back in the 1980s with the “gipper”. However, 12 years ago, when “the Turtle” and Boehner stood after the election of Obama and said that they would do everything possible to make Obama the least successful one term president, I made a vow. I will not, under any circumstance for the rest of my life vote for any individual running for any office as a Republican.

I’ve posted this already and will do so again:Already a republican, Wicker, is trying to take credit for the restaurant amendment even tho’ he DID NOT VOTE FOR the ARP. No honor. No scruples. No dignity.

“Sen. Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) on Wednesday applauded a portion of the American Rescue Plan that provides relief for restaurants after he voted against the COVID-19 relief bill as a whole.

Wicker in a tweet celebrated that Congress approved a $28.6 billion grant program for the restaurant and bar industry as part of the $1.9 trillion relief bill. He and Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) proposed an amendment including the funding." – https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/542663-gop-senator-applauds-restaurant-stimulus-money-after-voting-against-relief

If you want to know where the republican party is headed just watch Texas governor Greg Abbott, Trumpster extraordinaire. He’s already started on the horrors of the hordes of immigrants coming across the Texas border.

We observe an unfortunate anniversary today:

2020-01-07 • Presidential Daily Brief: “Analysts concluded [coronavirus] could be a cataclysmic event.” • Trump did nothing.

2020-03-11 • World Health Organization declares a global pandemic.

2020-04-15 • While continuing to lie about the pandemic, in a fit of infantile petulance at being publicly contradicted, Trump suspends US funding of WHO.

     2021-03-11 • US coronavirus deaths: 542,642 (61 weeks after PDB; 8896/week)

4% of the world’s population; 25% of its COVID deaths.

     For comparison …

    1941-12-07 • Pearl Harbor attack: 2,403

2001-09-11 • terrorist attacks: 2,977 (5 weeks after PDB warned Bush about it)

    Korean War (33,686) + Vietnam War (58,220) + Afghan War (7,970): 99,876

    WW1: 116,516 (83 weeks for US; 1403/week)

    WW2: 418,500 (195 weeks for US; 2146/week)

    Civil War: ~620,000 (213 weeks; 2911/week)

    Spanish flu: ~675,000 (~117 weeks; 5769/week)

I’ll probably keep on calling the toy Mr. because that’s what it has been called all my life. Back when I was introduced to it we wasted potatoes sticking the eyes and ears, etc. into them. It’s not a political thing, it’s just habit.

Well, the GOP hardly batted an eye over caged children and Abu Ghraib atrocities. Heck they cheered about it, so why expect anything fine from protofascists.

Right wingers have zero policies for helping Americans so they distract themselves with Dr Seuss, Peppe Le Pew and Potato Head, which is about the level of their childish and vacant critical thinking. LePew being today’s lock step right wing memo for propaganda.
