I have been so spoiled by having my groceries delivered to my front door that I will probably never go back to the store.

(At least until runaway inflation wipes out my pension and I can no longer afford the luxury.)

Thank you Donald Trump for Operation Warp Speed! Cutting the red tape. Making sure enough money was in the pipeline to fund the research. Making sure vaccines were secured for the country. Setting up a system to get the vaccines to the states. But then some of the states fumbled the ball, and a lot of people had to wait for poor distribution systems within the states. Too bad he isn’t still here to see to it that the fools don’t try to vaccinate prisoners at Guantanamo ahead of the rest of you.

Exactly. The problem with home delivery is that there is a fee but also that you are tied to a particular market. Also, even though we arrange to get the same person most of the time, the person doing the shopping can’t make the same decisions you do.

I’m actually looking forward to getting back into the stores. However, since I now work from home, there is no such thing as “stopping in on my way home from work.”

…if you can afford it. Grocery prices are getting out of hand!

I go grocery shopping every week. The stores are not crowded and I can pick out what I want. I live in NYC, where most people wear masks.

I have continued to go to the grocery store all along. I need to see and touch the items I will be buying. I am not comfortable with someone picking my groceries. Always wore a mask and socially distanced myself from others. Now, I am fully vaccinated, but will still do the same.

I’m off to Costco in an hour or so. Everyone wears masks and keeps away in most cases. I have no fear of catching a virus. Even if I do I’m 68 so I will feel like crap for 4 days and then carry on. The likelihood of ending up in hospital or dying is below 2%.

I was doing most shopping online before the pandemic because of back issues. I still prefer to select my own vegetables. I cannot get delivery from my favorite market. Apparently 5.5 miles is outside their delivery zone. Pick-up is a good alternative and only costs a deserved tip.

Everyone’s experience is different. My workplace (store) never shut down. Covid 19 got me early April 2020 before we started wearing masks and getting a test was not possible. Out of work for 3 weeks but working ever since then even though I’m dealing with post viral syndrome. Would be nice to be able to stay home for a while.

I’m fortunate to have the last Red Owl about a mile from me. Remember those small family run, neighborhood grocers? That’s what this is. If the parking lot is crowded I’ll circle around and come back a little later. Their selection may not be as wide and varied as those huge food places, but I can usually find everything I need to cook whatever I want, and their prices are comparable.

Believe it or not there are still perfectly healthy people that are so scared they won’t go grocery shopping even after they have been vaccinated.
