Exactly the treatment he deserves, and has earned, for a career filled with racism, sexism, hatred, bile, corruption, and cruelty. I’d list a few of his crasser moments, but there are too many, and I plan to eat sometime today.
^ @The Montana thingy…. Absolutely correct! Nobody on the left is willing to acknowledge that Rush timed things so he could do one last thing appropriate to Black History Month. You tell ’em Billy…
This would be an appropriate method of disposal for a man that spent his entire life creating a way for millions of people to channel cruelty and hatred. Rest in Hell Rush.
@MontanaBill. Awww…did the little snowflake’s feelings get hurt? A political cartoonist’s job is NOT to be nice. It is to make a point, and to make people uncomfortable. It has nothing to do with where you are on the political spectrum.
Having said that, there is a reason why the vast majority of great political cartoonists are more left-leaning than not: punching up is satire. Punching down is just mean and sad.
Which brings us to Mr. Limbaugh. Complaining because a political cartoonist isn’t nice to RUSH is hilarious. This is a guy who coined the term “feminazi.” This is a guy who celebrated deaths by AIDS. This is a guy who openly mocked the poor, minorities, women, people with diseases – anyone who was less privileged than himself. This is a guy who used to recommend hanging drug users, who himself was addicted to drugs, and when he was caught coming back from a “sex tour” of the Dominican Republic with Viagra that did not have his name on it (while his lawyers were trying to settle his drug abuse case), tried to “joke” that he had his bags switched with Clinton, or Dole, or whomever.
Rush Limbaugh was not only “not a nice person,” he was someone who gleefully went all-in on being as rude, crude, crass, insulting, dishonest, and cruel as possible for the sake of making money. This is mild indeed compared to the career of Rush Limbaugh. Danziger never claimed to be nice. Rush never admitted he was lying.
I asked in another cartoon where his ashes were being buried. This cartoon brings to mind the movie “The Shipping News” and how the ashes were disposed of in the movie. One of my favorite movies.
I say this as something like a 4th cousin twice removed to Rush (never met him and never wanted to). Cheap shots is cheap shots , as Mark Twain once observed in his spare time. Did Rush cause harm to the United States of America? Yes, no doubt. Was he something like Father Coughlin’s love child with Laura Ingraham? Yes, no doubt. (I mean, Bonnie of Clyde fame shot Rush down!) Was he, in the event, pretty much proving the old jokes about the “Nazi gas bag”? Yes. Did he harm the country that he thought he could “save”? Yes. Was he, as a member of the “alt right” (like we’re choosing between Pepsi and Coke: NO the “alt right” is the cowardly fascist right) He, and his fellow traitors, are TRAITORS, full stop. (I’ve often wished I were British to do this “full stop” thing because a “period” loses power……………….) I wished I lived in non-fascist time. But. things being what they IS…………I’d just like to say, you GO, Sir, Motive Magnus. You go.
Funny, commenters are mentioning MB’s Comment but it looks like he must have pulled his comment because I don’t see it. Though if I had I would have Flagged it without bothering to read it.
a few months before the ‘92 election, I grew bored with older rock music and looking for something to listen to on the way to work, I discovered rushy. He was full of sh!t, but was a good distraction, sorta. The morning after the election, He cried and whined for hours. Clinton’s election was certain to destroy the USA. I switched back to my rock stations. I haven’t listened to more than two minutes of his blather, since. His death is a positive step toward restoring a bit of our Democracy. Now, if Dump would follow suit, we might start heading in a positive direction.

I’ve posted this on several cartoons in the past two days. I’ll add it here before the final flush of the news cycle carries him away for ever…
Sung to the tune of Don McLean’s “Miss American Pie”:
“…And the two men I admire least:
‘The former guy’ and his trained Fox beast,
They talked about how they were fleeced
The day
Rush Windbag
Died.
So bye, bye, Misanthropic Old Guy
Drove me crazy – all the ways he
Made democracy cry
Them “good ol’ boys” are thinkin’ "Who else will lie
Half as good as Misanthropic Old Guy?"

I hope Lisa Bensonsees this one. It’s the correct cadtoonist’s way to say bye-bye to Rush, the magic misogynist.

Excellent cartoon! I’m not against speaking ill of the dead, especially when the decedent is Rush Limbaugh.

I would agree with the assessment of Rush expressed here except… think of the damage this would do to our ground water!

Rush must have had a full-time crew of TY-D-BOL men in his tank, and no small motor boat, either.
