Tex Daddy and Tex Mommy, now that we’re wearing everything we own and are under all of the blankets, tell us the story again about how the GOPQ and the Fat Orange Clown got the federal government off of our backs and removed all those nasty regulations.
Simple fact: Regulations arise from behaviors that range from callous negligence to outright criminality, usually in the interest of making money. The deregulation folk want to re-enable such behaviors in the interest of making money – the outfall be damned.
Every once in a while.. there is mention of Russia/China/Iran being able to take over various utilities with cyber warfare. The last week shows just how vulnerable America is and the devastation that the lack of utilities bestows on it’s people.
Let them leave. They’re obviously capable of taking care of themselves. They have plenty of money to maintain their infrastructure and to build border walls around the entire new nation. And then, they’ll petition us for “foreign aid” dollars.
These are the same ignoramuses who are whining the loudest right now about the current situation in Texas. These dunces don’t see the correlation between paying taxes and having a functional power grid.
Everyone loves the old song “The Eyes of Texas are Upon You” except when it becomes a rather unpleasant reality. Tim Boyd, ex-mayor of Colorado City, Texas, made this discovery after posting this calming and reassuring message to residents coping with a little glitch in the power grid; “only the strong will survive and the weak will [perish] . . . No one owes you [or] your family anything; nor is it the local government’s responsibility to support you during trying times like this! Sink or swim it’s your choice! The City and County, along with power providers or any other service owes you NOTHING! I’m sick and tired of people looking for a damn handout.”
The Climate Change hoax (s/) is showing that those who seek to go it alone, to be independent of others, may truly reap the whirlwind, and cold and hurricanes, too. Just like the Covid battle, it’s a battle we can only win if everyone is working together. But, Climate Change is for real and we must all be prepared for it. That will require a change in operations and mind set. We may even have to return to living underground as our ancient ancestors did.
Reminds me of “The Last Picture Show” where the guy with the stud hat wanted to go visit the blind heifer for some R&R. Jeff Bridges wasn’t having any of it.
A person has to wonder if they had been willing to listen and compromise perhaps the problems most of the nation advanced past over a half century ago could have been avoided through logical energy company regulation.
This video is downright INSPIRING. It is by a Conservative who strongly supports the Constitution. He is a power figure in Arkansas and as such, as well as from being a war hero, he also has national standing. His statement takes nine minutes but is very worth hearing since he gets to the most essential points and he describes a way forward which can certainly happen elsewhere, including here.

Hey, depending on the issue I vary (liberal for social issues that increase fair opportunities like civil rights, strong education, retraining for jobs, equal work advancement; old style conservative pre-debt-approach for most fiscal issues except that I strong think that infrastructure repair and replacement programs as a modern New Deal approach could help the nation greatly now and should be done; moderate in most else). Oh, and i am an independent who votes according to things like past voting records of candidates. I do not line vote and consider it lazy.
You know, “100 year weather events” keep coming around, coming around, since the onset of global warming a few DECADES ago. (I mean, where DOES the time go?) Intelligent people plan for this, honest people plan for this, and patriotic people plan for this. Whoops! Three strikes and yer OUT, Abbot!
Wind turbines were the only things working after the snow hit the ffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffformerly (baby, it’s cold here) the great state of Texas. Surprised that the ruling elite of the State Repulsican Crime Family didn’t sojourn to Cancun with Criminal Cruz.
Yeah, I care about Texas. They’re screwed by their elected officials, who cemented their power before the demographic shifted away from them. Texas is now minority ruled and gerrymandered, and its voters are suppressed.

Love how he is teaching his kids such great “Christian” values. I mean if all of those other people worked harder they could go to Cancun too. Right?
