Jambon in French. Jamón in Spanish. But Prosciutto in Italian. Whyizzthat? I’ll go for Schinken now.

Actually, Ian Fleming chose the name “James Bond” because he thought it was a very ordinary and boring name.

Shaken melts the ice more. He was arrogantly ordering a weak martini. Also, that nasty juniper taste is going to hide any rufie they put in there, so knock yourself out.

The James Bond character reflected the alcohol-saturated culture of the 50s and 60s. There was this myth about the macho man who could drink all the time and never suffer slowed reflexes, poor decision-making or hangover. It was nearly as omnipresent in movies as the French obsession with cigarettes.
