Alex Jones got successfully sued for millions for harassing Sandy Hook parents — innocent, private citizens who were victimized by a crazed gun nut who was allowed access to firearms — and defaming them by saying they were lying about a staged “false flag” deception. Marjorie Taylor Greene has doubled down on Alex Jones’ Sandy Hook defamation and raised him a Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School (Parkland), also claiming BOTH were staged “false flag” deceptions, including direct face-to-face confrontation and harassment of one of its surviving victims, David Hogg. She better have more money and better lawyers than Alex Jones.

And about the charges of Democratic pedophiles? Republicans — especially TrumpubliKKKon Treasonweasels — love to accuse their adversaries of their own worst attributes. It was TRUMP who was a close pal with Jeffrey Epstein for many years, attending many of his parties with teenage girls in which they were the only adults; it was TRUMP who loved to release photos of himself in intimate poses with his own teenage daughter; it is TRUMP being sued for sexual harassment and for defamation of one of his rape victims, who conveniently saved the dress with the DNA evidence that would exonerate Trump if he were innocent, but which he is trying to suppress because he is not.

Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for the execution (assassination) of top Democrats in the past, and is accused by colleagues of having aided and abetted the violent insurrectionists, who has accosted colleagues in the hallways of the Capitol and who has refused to submit to metal detectors when entering the Capitol.

Marjorie Taylor Greene belongs in the prison psychiatric ward, not in congress, so of course today’s corrupt Republicans assign her to the Education Committee.

This is the state of today’s Republican party.

And by the tens of thousands, FORMER Republicans are defecting and changing their registrations.

In Georgia, they call her a moderate. Such is the State of The Union, and some Democrats are calling for ‘unity’.

Some, still don’t get that the seditious “Republicans” are just mocking [e.g. appointing MTG to the education committee] our constitutional quasi-democratic republic … in their [not so sublte] continuing coup attempt to have an authoritarian rule where 100% victories after “election” results are counted, keep them perpetually in power.

It’s great that so many Republicans have left the Republican Party, but it’s also somewhat worrisome. If their defection is real, i.e., based on intellectual, educational, experiential, ethical grounds, that’s all to the good; however, if they’re fifth-columnists intending to try to gut the Democratic Party by sowing dissension, by challenging established Democratic candidates in primaries, particularly in traditionally strong Democratic constituencies, then it’s not REALLY an abandonment of the Republican Party, but yet another flank to promote GOP Leadershit lunacy under the guise of “reforming” the Democratic Party. As the old Russian proverb goes, “Trust, but Verify” (Доверяй, но проверяй).

When the Tea Party got started I realized that Republicans not only didn’t value education, they actively sneered at it. Trump, who bought his way to an Ivy League degree appointed Betsey Devos who continued to devalue it. Instead of a population of educated civic minded citizens we are plagued by an enlarging group of gun toting, conspiracy theorist, white nationalist mobs bent on creating chaos in the name of Trump.

I don’t think there should be a test for anyone to hold office or to vote. But a party can have standards. The Republicans could say that they won’t recognize neofacsists or complete nutcases. I guess that would eliminate most of the Republican leadership.

There are reliable reports that huge numbers of Republicans have changed their party affliction after Jan 6, going to the trouble of letting the local election officials know about it. Since there have to be quite a few people who had the same reaction, but didn’t bother to make it official in the county records, I would say the Republicans have to cut the MAGAts out of the party if they want to have a party left. Since they can’t attract any voters from the right—they are convinced the Republicans were going to back their insurrection and are pissed that they didn’t, the only hope they have is to develop a Republican party that will attract moderates. I would welcome a conservative party that could actually compete with the liberals without lying. That hasn’t happened in the entire time I have been politically aware, roughly 50 years. I don’t agree with a lot of liberal ideas- abortion tops the list, and would be interested in hearing the views of an HONEST conservative party. I have never had that option and once I understand that I am being lied to, even if the person lying seems to believe what he is saying—- actually even more so if he seems to actually believe it, because that’s nuts, so I have always voted Democratic. An honest option might be nice.

The corrupted GOP will pay at the POLLS!……they are committing political suicide….which for some, they have spent way too many years in congress to be effective for WE THE PEOPLE! I had some hope after Mr. Biden was elected and the Dems took a majority in the Senate. It’s leaking away day by day as the Trump enablers in Congress have totally abrogated rational thought to keep defending him.

The social worker in me says you cannot influence change in people unless you engage them with some measure of regard and compassion. The war veteran in me, especially today on the 53rd anniversary of the Tet offensive, says any and ALL registered Republicans can go straight to hell, naked and sliding on a cheese grater on the way down.
